We get into MoBay 12/20 about 12:30 pm from Fort Lauderdale.

We want to hire a private taxi to Hedo.

1) Who should we go with? Contact Info?
2) Is anyone else arriving around the same time? Share?
3) Bad experiences? Who would you NEVER use again?

we arriving on 12/25 at noon and we booked with rockys taxi service. very reputable and they also have great trip advisor reviews.

Ashton Pitt, great guy, individual contractor. Trustworthy and very helpful with anything else you may need on the island. He's about 60 years old and very nice. He's on Trip Advisor or PM me for his email and phone. Ashton's the man. Very passionate about Jamaican culture and history.

If you book with Rocky's ,ask for the Toyota Camray (very comfy), or else they may send a mini-bus ( very uncomfortable).

We went with Turner Taxis & Tours. We used them twice. Both times very happy.

We use a guy named TuTu. We have used him for the past 3years. He chargers $100 round trip and for an extra fee he will give you a cell phone to call back to the states with. If you want more info let me know but I think he is the best we have used.

$70 each way is pretty average, some charge a little more, some a little less.

The cheapest way to travel in Negril is to use the route taxis. Just walk out to the street and it won't take long for one to come by and stop for you, or if you see one coming just wave it down . They have a red license plate and it says route taxi on the door. The fare is 140 Jamaican dollars per person anywhere on the route, but we usually give them five dollars for the two of us.

It's the cheapest but it's not the most convenient, if you want to go to the cliffs you would have to take two route taxis, one to the roundabout in town and then switch to another one that goes to the cliffs. If you're going within the 7 mile Beach area then one taxi and one for fare is all that you need. If you take a regular taxi from Hedo to the cliffs it will be about $20.
