Construction update

Sometimes progress can be a little painful but it will be so worth it when it's over.Are there pictures of all the changes somewhere?
I looked on the Hedo website and could not find any mention of the construction or photos etc.Would love to see what's going on.Personally,I think eating breakfast at Pastafari and dinner on the beach would not be all that bad.Sorta different,outdoorsy,with that "camped out" feeling some of us enjoy................

All of this is definitely a downer. Will be there 9/5 - 9/13 as a newbie. Understand renovations must be done, but wouldn't have scheduled our first during this time if we knew. For us to consider a future return this trip must prove to be very well worth it, even with the renovations going on.

We will be there from 29 Aug to 15 September, and we are as they say "veterans", so we can certainly help you get an understanding of what the resort is like normally and find shortcuts to get around all this mess.

You will not miss out on anything. Dinner is on a platform on the beach so women can still go to dinner in heels. There is a temporary stage on the beach so evening entertainment will still go on during dinner. Pastafari is serving breakfast as well right now. The Prude Grill has a new evening menu during construction. Wine bar and Piano Bar are still open. Harrysan is closed during the work. The casino is gone. It was made known last year at this time when they did renovations that they would be doing more this year. EVery week, there will be various offers made to the guests who re being inconvenienced.

There will be renovations every year at this time (slow season) until everything they have planned is completed. A complete remake or relocation of the disco is slated within the next two years.

Will be there Sept 5th to the 12th for our 4th trip to Hedo. I understand some people are upset with the work going on but need to have that Hedo attitude. Lets look at the good and the bad. Have to eat under a tent looking at the ocean (good). Might have to hang at the nude pool drinking more (good). Might have to have Fireman deliver more lobster to eat sitting by ocean with my wife (good). Might have to talk to the friendly people at Hedo more (good). Sorry could not find any bad

Not by the hotel nor castaway travel who we booked through, I heard about it and posted on the hedo forum , was told by Harry himself that it was not going to be that big of a deal..It’s gets better……first the tent, there are 20 tables that hold 4 each under the tent, everything else is at the prude grill, not under anything and a few tables off to the side of the tent…can you say rain? Also we received a letter under our door last night one free night only in aug or sep…checking out today two other people were checking out, their letters said two nights? And we had been here the longest of each couple? Then checking out no discount was applied for our spa or our store purchases and the front desk person said I would have to pay and then call back down to “work it out”.

People are not wearing heels sorry hedo joe, all in flip flops because you have to get to the tent and the food is all out on the beach, where the four hammocks were by the prude grill . The prude grill is being used as overflow and the different menus but is not being advertised with a different menu, most are just trying to find a seat once you go to the Buffett. And yes some renovation is fine, half the resort closed is not ...and not advised of what you are to expect.

Also hedo joe, this is a third party website it is not controlled or managed by hedonisom, NO one should have to receive there information on a third party forum but from the hotel direct , that is why I posted and asked questions on their forum. The jack hammering has not ended and the pool, restaurant should be closed until sometime in oct, or 24 hours depending who you speak to hahahaha. Also this is the first time our room cleaning person has let us know where to leave our tip!

No matter what the issues, there is always going to be some one who bitches... Not everyone can be pleased.. In order for people to stop bitching about how the conditions at Hedo could be better, ALL of these renos are mandatory.. Yes there will be people who will be affected by it, but would you rather they close the whole resort down for a year to have theses items done??.

STOP bitching, you're in Jamaica ... At Hedo...where it's like an adult playground...make the best out of what is given...we realize you've been inconvenient by it by think of all the resort workers who not only have to accommodate those guests who are there but they have to listen to the bitching of the ungrateful people, who have the ability to spend a week in paradise while the sweat their asses of with a smile to make you're stay enjoyable..making below the cost of living in wages..

To be honest, I only heard about the renovations on the forum too. However, from previous trips we knew it was coming. We are going to Hedo for a little more than it would cost to spend a week for two at Wasaga Beach and likely going to have way more fun. All I can say from here in the great white north is that the price seemed highly discounted to versus our previous trips down. So in 29 hours I am looking forward to a great week.

Do they still have nude women, a beach, alcohol and a pool?? These are 4 reasons I go to Hedo. Dining room and prude pool? WTF, just mean more time for jacuzzi and pool, I'll eat at the nude snack bar
