how do cruises compare to resorts?

We recently went to Hedo in Jamaica with the Fluffernutters travel group and had the best vacation ever? We want to try different places and activities and considering the Bliss cruise in 2016. How does a cruise compare? Can you be naked most places except meals? Is it more restrictive? Fluffernutters threw great parties and got everyone involved, everyone was friendly and made a lot of friends. A cruise with so many people, feel like it might be too large a crowd. Looking for advise from others who have experienced both.
    Thank you

We've been to Hedo several times, including with the Fluffs. We've been on a LS cruise and will be on the Bliss this Nov. Very different vacations.
The cruise is 5 times larger (285 rooms at Hedo/ 1430 cabins on the ship) and couples only. Over the top luxury. Nudity (clothing optional) on pool and sundecks only (and sometimes limited when in port); many keep a bathing suit on or are topless only. Playrooms are over the top - the vibe is intense; they are tightly controled, must enter and exit with a partner, and kept very clean.
Hedo, well you went with the Fluffs. Jon throws one hell of a party. Hard to top that. Easier to interact - we've many more friends at Hedo than on a cruise.

The trip to Hedo was incredible and awesome energy and met a lot of great people and it was July take over w Fluffs so prude side was clothing optional and we enjoyed being naked or nearly naked most of the time. Wearing revealing theme costumes to dinner, a lot of freedom there. But because it was our first lifestyle vacation, nothing to compare. Considering Bliss cruise in 2016 but hate the idea of wearing clothes most of the time. We never made it to the playroom at Hedo, but with the beds around the resort, the hot tub and our rooms with mirrors every where, really didn't need the playroom. We love Caliente in our home state of Florida but would like to find other places/resorts/etc to try. We love to travel and there is so much to see. Cruises give you several stops but concerned about the loss of intimacy with so many people, that may not run into someone again after meeting and the energy not being the same. We are also considering Desire in 2016 but would have to be a great group going. It appears the travel group makes the difference

FYI, the prude side is ALWAYS clothing optional and has been for a couple of years. That being said, we go with the Fluffs in February and have done a LS cruise. As my friends gsml said, where you can be nude on the cruise is very limited. The cruise we were one had 3500+ guests on board. If you met someone in the am that you had the slightest bit of interest in, you had better make very definite plans of time and location or seize the moment or you may never run into them again. We had friends from CT on board with us and we did not see them until lunch on Thursday.

We have also been to Desire Riviera Maya. Even though the resorts bills themselves as Lifestyle Friendly, we encountered less lifestyle couples there than we did at Hedo. The resort is clothing optional and with that, saw many women parading around topless, in heels, that never got naked. Desire was nice but the party is not a Hedo party.

Can't comment on lifestyle cruises since wet haven't been on one yet, but being Floridians who have been to Hedo 5 times so far, and since you mentioned Caliente I figured I would pipe in with another "local" recommendation for lifestyle fun.

You should check out Secrets Hideaway Resort and Spa which is in Kissimmee (close to Orlando). Their main website is http://www.secretsfl.com and their schedule of parties and theme nights is at http://www.hedoevents.com.

We actually won our first 3 nights to Hedo at an event there in 2012 participating in a contest that was hosted by Winston It was a great time, and the parties and big weekend takeovers are the closest thing to Hedonism II that you can get in our area.
Next trip: Young Swingers Week March 18 - 24 2018!

The Fluffs are a lot more intense than the cruises... Like most say C/O at the pools and that is it... All the cruise ships are worried about sex happening in front of staff. Three types of people on a cruise...Lifestylers, Nudist and Other ("Just wanted to do a cruise with no kids") So play is limited to the Playroom only. The Bliss cruise is their first cruise, so yet to be seen as how things will be done. They say they are having a play area on the back pool area of the ship... I'm sure this will be closed once in port. Cruises are fun, but not as open as Hedo. Couples only for the most part. Lots of people, some times hard to find a chair at the pool. We've met a couple on the ship the first day and never saw them again on a 7 day cruise. Also remember cruises are not all inclusive. Meals are included, drinks are not... even soda. Still it's a great way to travel if you like seeing places. If you are outgoing you will have fun either way... Lots of people also means more people to interact with each other.

We have been to Both Hedo and 2 LS Cruises.
We had a lot of fun at Hedo, and met some fun people, but not many!!! The First thing MOST everyone we met there said was "We're not Swingers"!! Like we were going to attack them!!! LOL So we said IF we ever went back it would be in January with a Full LS Takeover!!

We MUCH prefer the LS Cruises!!! Obviously, as We have 2 more booked!!!
Short Version: 2000-3000+ People, 1 Luxury Ship, 3 Ports, 8 days!!! LOL
We luv having all of the Luxury, Excursions, Travel, Ameneties of a Regular Cruise. Add to that ALL that the Charter Company (Usually has been Couples Cruise, but now Bliss Cruise is jumping on the Bandwagon) brings to the table!!!
MORE "Adult" Excursions to choose from, Special entertainers, seminars, "Workshops", HUGE main play room with lots of single, double, and Group beds. All staffed to keep them clean. Themed play rooms/areas, Dungeon, Sexy Nightly themes, private parties, And.............NO FUCKING KIDS!!!!! LOL

We have made SO many friends from all over the world, that we keep in touch with, that we'll meet on the cruises, as well as the fact there are a LOT more people on a Cruise, that we always will meet more amazing people that suit us!!!!!

Different things work well for different people. This is just what works Best for us!!!

Totally agreed. I've been on 4 cruises, and will be on the Divina in April for the 5th. The cruises are much more intense, with a lot more play and opportunity, if that is what you want. 3500+ fun loving lifestylers vs a few hundred makes it night and day. I've been to Hedo 2 times, and will be back for a 3rd time in a couple months. I enjoy the relaxing, easygoing vibe of Hedo. So for variety sake, I like to enjoy both. I also enjoyed Desire in Cancun. Same relaxing vibe.
