We are also going in December. but we leave on the 11th, we are also not finding a lot going on in December. it is our first trip but did find a group to join that is their at the same time. its going to be a blast but the wait is killing me! reading all the trip reports, forums books we can find December is soooo far away (it will be our anniversary when we are their)
We are going on December 4th through the 14th, it is the best weather of the year at that time and there is a group in house that week, DennyP and his group the Wet, Wild and Wicked group will be there, really good group of very friendly folks.
We will be going for our 14th time, with the WWW group 12/5-12/12
We will also be going in December 8th to the 15th. It's our first time so we don't know of any groups at this time.
This is a very low occupancy window.
From 10 dec to 26 dec is slow.
THe upside is you get first choice on everything there
Do you know if the boat trip will run during the month of Dec? We were hoping on doing the cave cruise. Any idea what day these trips occure?
Us and two other couples will be arriving on the 14th of December thru the 20th.
The daytime cruise to the caves is on Tuesday's and Saturday's at 10:30. The sunset cruise to Ricks is on Thursday's at 3:00. As far as I know they operate year round.

Yes, the Catamaran cruises run! We've done them before. moejoe and maui'd, we look forward to meeting you there. We're there from the 5th through 12th, and yes, you will have a blast! As far as occupancy is concerned, not sure where the information came from about low occupancy or being slow, but a few years ago the resort was actually overbooked and we had to spend a night at the Riu. Under the new management, this is less likely to happen, nonetheless, there is always a pretty big crowd at that time.

It seems you have been there a lot during Dec. I'm glad you think the resort will be full I was a bit concerned it would be empty at that time.
Yes the cruises are nude. I would say about 50% or so of people will go nude but it totally depends on the crowd. Snorkelling and swimming through the caves in the nude is a blast. Just a tip, don't sign up until the morning of the cruise so you can be sure the weather is good. The cruise will go rain or shine and it's not a lot of fun when the weather is lousy.
