    Bringing own cups?

Gotten lots of tips to bring our own cups. So, I'm looking for tips on type and size (hehe). Many years ago we brought Bubba Kegs to Desire. Used them once, and found them bulky and not all that great at keeping drinks cool. Is the point to just to be able to avoid multiple runs to the bar? If so, thinking our reusable double-wall plastic "Grande" cups from Sbux will be fine. Tervis makes something similar. Alternatively, I see that Thermos makes a stainless commuter mug (and appently Bubba Keg makes a smaller size now too). Thanks!

That's why I bring mine. Or, depending on my mood, I may use it for water to accompany my drinks. Or, in the morning, coffee to go float in the water with...

And on occasion, has served as a nice reminder as to my name (JK on that one...)

I recommend one that meets whatever purpose you may feel would work for you! (hot/cold, large for water, straw, etc)

Yes, bring a Tervis or bubba mug for ice water. This is the best way to keep you from getting totally wasted during the week. Make sure to drink water in-between every alcoholic drink and you will be able to remember more of your vacation. So many people get so trashed because the alcohol is included, and they feel like they have to get their money's worth, so they just keep knocking them back. Moderation people! Bring a big mug for water!

    Hi guys,

We agree that the Bubba Kegs are just too big, but we really like the 18 oz. Bubba Mug Classic. It has a handle, a snap-on lid (as opposed to screw-on lids that never seem to line up right with the handle! ), and a rubberized thing to close the drink hole so you can keep the pool or saltwater out of your drinks. There are many more expensive brands that we just don't like as much.

We'll have them with us at Hedo this Sept.10-17!!!

we have taken both 20 oz and 32 oz Bubbas to Hedo and they have worked out well. The 52 oz one that Sam has for work is great for scaring people at the coffee club when they advertise 25 cents per cup...

I love my Starbucks double insulated mug! So... I wanted something colorful and like that. Then I found this Bubba mug at Target. http://www.shopbubba.com/shop-all/mu...envy-mug-pink/
What's great about this one is the flexible rubber straw. Starbucks has that hard plastic one that can break.

Ditto here. We bring two small bubba mugs for the beach and we keep one larger one in the room for water. We don't use the mugs in the evening either.

We use the 20 oz Bubba, with the wider bottom format. They will keep iced drinks and beer cold for over an hour. They are more stable on the beach. Require fewer trips to the bar, however not so big as you don't move all afternoon. And you don't have to be a weight lifter to lift a full one. Finally, they keep sand, ocean, pool water and little bugs out of your drink. We started carrying them in 90's when we also realized how many single use glasses ended up in various island landfills from use of single use plastic glasses.

We also use the 20 oz. Bubba Keg. For us the most convenient size, especially if you are drinking beer...it doesn't go flat as in the much larger sizes. We also bring an extra plastic one for ice water. Like most people we don't use them in the evening.
BTW, I have never been accused of letting my drink get warm!

We tried a few different types over the years (bubbas, tervis, aladdin), and we finally settled on 16 oz. Cool Gear Cans as our favorites. They aren't too expensive -- $5 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Great size for mimosas and red eyes in the morning, and beer and cocktails in the afternoon (water too!). The reason we like them the best is the spill-proof slider lid - protects your drinks from the occassional liquid sunshine. http://shop.coolgearinc.com/16oz-coolgearcan/
