Carry On Pros - share your secrets!

I was just wondering if the seasoned, carry on travelers could share some of their secrets. With liquids and gels being limited to a one quart ziplock, what are the items that you place at the highest priority and what can you simply do without? Do you tend to take travel size or do you just buy at the gift store if required. This is only a 3 night stay visit so certainly traveling light is achievable (after I narrow down my shoe selection to one or two pairs!). Any advise is appreciated.

    Disclaimer: I'm a guy. I make a 6 day trip with a carry-on only.

One travel tube of sunscreen/day I am there. Colgate shaving cream.(small travel can). Small massage oil if it will fit.
High heels take priority over sunscreen. I'm sure there will be many people who will share if you ask nicely!!

Gift shop is a backup. Rarely needed to use it.

    Enjoy!!

Heck, we've survived three days with nothing when our luggage got lost! People donated clothes for dinner, bought two toothbrushes and toothpaste in the gift shop. Didn't need much else. Have fun guys!

single guy here...so I can make it a week with carry on only... none of my female traveling companions could ever make the trip with a carry on :-). Way to many shoes, outfits, makeup and hair products.

I've done it a few times! But I'll start with this warning: know your airline! Several are starting to crack down on the size of carry on. Also, consider that even with club mo bay, I've never waited for luggage. So if its time and not money you're looking to save, eh. ...

Ok, first, you mention the quart size bag. In addition, you must keep the size to 3.4oz. (3.2?) At any rate, toothpaste, hair conditioner, sunscreen are my priorities. Lush has solid toothpaste that looks like chicklets if you're so inclined. Also, neutrogena has solid stick sunscreen. Takes a little more effort to assure full coverage. ..but sure you can get some help with that!
Hairspray and some moisturizer if it fits. Otherwise, it's all good.

Yeah, you can keep the massage oil if you don't have toothpaste
