Outside the property proper it is customary and required that normal resort casual clothes or swimwear be worn.

Hedo security will often warn guests to cover up before leaving the grounds so as not to offend Jamaicans.

A bathing suit and perhaps sarong, or a sundress for the ladies, and shorts/swim bottoms are fine for men. It *is* the beach, afterall!
I always bring a couple of bathing suits for FB-friendly pics to post or share with friends upon returning home. Usually I take the pics on the prude side, at mealtimes, and in the room. I personally tend not to venture off of the resort, as there is just too much fun to be had, and I don't wanna miss anything! lol.

Actually all of 7 mile beach you can be topless but you may get frowned upon in front of the family resorts. If you can even get them to look up from their books at Sandals.

Any bathing suit will do. Respect the locals, nudity is not their way. We usually have some form of Hedo identifier, hat, T, sarong... nice to recognize those from the resort and also get a lots of looks and even some questions on how it is.

We always take a 7 mile beach walk past Sandals and we also walk the other direction to the Office Of Nature. Swim trunks or shorts is what I wear, my wife just wears a bathing suit, that she brings just for the walks.

Topless is allowed along the entire seven mile beach. We spent a week at Rooms on the Beach in March and Mrs Cdn_cpl went topless on the beach the entire week. It was no problem. She's also walked through Sandals topless as far as The Boardwalk and even got those sleepy people to talk. I don't think the Jamaican people are as offended by it these days as they maybe once used to be.

When we were at Sandals on the beach, a Hedo couple walked by and she was wearing a g-string/thing bikini bottom and effectively nada on top. Everyone looked up from their books.

It's a beautiful walk along the beach. Definitely wear proper attire bathing suits and such. Although the beach is gorgeous you do appreciate the hedonists atmosphere when you get back!

For the guys I'd say wear a swimsuit...I guess that goes without saying. Board shorts predominate with a much much smaller population of skimpier styles. For women pretty much anything goes. My wife wears her Wicked Weasel and Malibu Strings bikinis, and while walking keeps her top on.

Yep I'd say thong bikinis are ok, although Kim didn't wear one down the beach, we saw a few chicks in their hot little thongs, yumm!

Our first experiance with Hedo was watching the Hedo folks wander down the beach while we staying at Sandals.
We were impressed with the bodies walking by, but more intrigued with their creativity in what would be called clothing.
Wraps, shear, strings, always just enough. One day we followed them back, and the rest is history.
