OK, here goes, we have had a couple days to digest our first trip to Hedo. Neither of us have ever set foot on a nude beach, been on a lifestyle trip of any kind or done much more than dip our toes into the idea of swinging. Deciding to jump in with both feet we decided to go sometime in January, and accidentally stumbled upon the Young Swingers Week group online. Lesley was very informative and helpful while answering all of our questions about the travel, resort and lifestyle. We made a mass order on Amazon to try and cover the theme outfits (not as easy as it sounds living in Canada over four hours from the US border) and ventured to Bellingham to pick them up. Just a tip, this saved us over $300 in cross border shipping costs. After weeks of painful waiting, discussing, reading online to try and learn what to expect it was finally time to start the trip. I work out of town, so Denise had to fly to Edmonton to meet me right after work where we spent one night in a hotel before a 7 am flight to Toronto. We awoke to two inches of snow and an hour delay for de-icing making it to Toronto with enough time for a quick snack (and drink) at the airport before catching the next plane to Montego Bay. Arrival in Jamaica was seamless as ours was the only inbound flight at the time and was not full. With help from a very nice Club Mobay representative we were sipping rum punch in the lounge about 20 minutes after landing. All our research had suggested crowded
and sometimes rowdy bus trips to the resort, however ours was empty resulting in a private tour from our driver who was very informative, telling us about each small town as we passed through. We stopped for a quick Red Stripe and made it to Hedonism in good time. Upon arrival (about 8 pm) we were told that our room was unavailable due to overbooking and would have to accept an upgrade to a nude side ocean view jacuzzi suite for the night…DARN! The upgraded rooms are VERY nice, including a completely new bathroom
with double sinks, larger shower with a rain shower head and a newer mirror over the bed with led lights
around it controlled by a panel near the bed. The hot tub on the deck had a beautiful view of the ocean. We dropped our bags and headed to the buffet for dinner. We quickly learned that it was lobster night on the grill and proceeded to fill our face with tail after tail and enough butter to drown a grown man. We were exhausted, took a quick walk and a couple cocktails from the bar and went back to the room. Tested out the hot tub and called it a night.
Saturday morning, woke up around 9 am, had an omelet and bacon, I think I gained five pounds on bacon alone. We asked at the bar for something good with breakfast and were delighted to learn that they will make you an incredible fresh fruit smoothy on the spot, which we washed down with a mimosa. Check in at Young Swingers was busy, yet well staffed, we picked up our necklaces, hats and swag bags and invited ourselves on a tour with Katie (one of our hosts). She showed us around the resort, including the locations of the secret hot tubs, the “spa” and various beaches, nude/prude sides and some good general information for newbies. After our tour we decided that the prude side was not for us, took a deep breath and walked to
the nude beach. We stripped at the sign indicating we had run out of choices and walked scared to the nude pool for drinks. Within 30 minutes we had met several new friends and pretty much forgot we were naked. This is where we bumped into another host couple, Chris and Ashley. They introduced us to several amazing people and helped ease us into our first real night at Hedo. We had dinner at the buffet (can’t remember what we ate, the buffet was consistently good, but not great). We skipped most of the show opting to go get ready for the theme party. The theme was PJ’s and Pasties, which I wore a pair of silk pj pants while Denise
had on a sexy little black thong and some heart shaped pasties. We were almost overwhelmed with how many great looking people were dressed up in theme and partaking in the fun. We checked out the piano bar but preferred the disco as the music was great and people were dancing their asses off. Things started to die down around 1 am (time is bit fuzzy at this point) and Ashley invited us to join them with Katie and Brian to feed the fish off the dock. We saw tons of cool looking fish and even spotted a sting ray in the ocean, a very cool experience. We headed back to the room, took a quick Hedo nap and turned in to bed.
Sunday - Breakfast, smoothy, learned about coffee with rum cream, another genius Jamaica concept. Then went to the speed dating setup. While we think this was a great idea and everyone tried very hard (Fifty is freakin' hilarious) I think too many people showed up for the piano bar to hold. Despite being fairly hard to hear we did meet several people who we eventually chatted with later in the pool. Before dinner we attended the cock and tail party…one of my personal favourites. The men were given tickets which the women had to try to earn by doing various fun things of our choosing. Let’s just say that Hedo girls aim to please. Denise was a little shy but watch out for her next year as I think she has the hang of it now. Put on our school girl/boy outfits and danced at the disco before going to the nude pool for pizza. GO FOR PIZZA! loved it, watched some crazy antics in the hot tub and went back to the room for the night.
Monday - slept through breakfast, don’t do this as the brunch buffet left us with some fruit and a croissant, tasty but not as good as breakfast. Down to the pool for drinks and fun, everyone is so friendly and welcoming that we already feel like “part of the group” we met a couple on their honeymoon, people from Ireland, Finland, fellow Canadians, Americans, larger people, tiny people and incredibly fit people…it doesn't matter they are all happy and having a great time. Denise raced a goat in a very competitive heat finishing third to last years winner and this year’s eventual champion. There are always games, and contests going on and a good general party vibe. While we had been introduced to William and Kerry before we felt honoured to be invited to their bachelor and bachelorette parties. The girls had quite a show put on by Fifty
while the guys had drinks at the piano bar. (Strippers stood us up.) We had dinner at Harry San’s with Chris and Ashley and thoroughly enjoyed it, I don’t usually like sushi, but it was very fresh and quite good. The cook Christopher was fantastic as he mixed cooking with comedy and flair with his utensils to make quite the show. Winston and the EC’s put on a great dance show and we put on our glow outfits. Danced, somehow ended up in a pink wig swinging on the stripper pole and had a generally great time. Went to the nude side and tried jerk chicken pizza - yummy!
Tuesday - Breakfast, then speed dating take two. This time there was a few less people and the Young Swingers team made some adjustments. The chairs were all removed and people were free to move about, find quieter corners and meet people they missed last time around and the new arrivals. This was a much better event and we actually made a couple more new friends here. While we were late getting to the pool we caught the end of the girl on girl action in the lube pool, where we not only enjoyed the show but learned a thing or two from the girls about strap-ons. The theme was collars and cuffs and we were properly attired for William and Kerry’s wedding. Not sure what we expected but were happily surprised by a very classy ceremony, the best looking wedding party we have ever seen and the union of a fantastic couple. All the best to these two. We ate at the buffet, hung out with John and Kristen as well as Brett and Lesley. Super nice friendly people who now how to host a party. The pool party afterwards was the best dancing so far as it was cooler being outside. We met another couple from Seattle and danced the night away with them.
Wednesday - Omlettes, and off to the nude pool. Kind of a slow day, checked out the prude side where the activity were planned, watched the decorate your dick contest (with the happy addition of the painted ladies contest) before joining in the group photo on the Hedo wall. Got dressed for the fetish night (not our best costumes) and had dinner at Pastafari’s with our new Seattle friends. We were treated to a gourmet five course meal and then took in the best show of the week by the EC’s. There was trapeze, rope swinging and a ton of raw sex appeal. After the show we went to to the main pool deck to meet the naked news. I cannot explain how fun these two were, we did our best to give an interview but we don’t know much about fetishes and the camera really does drop your IQ by 30 points. Sorry guys. We missed most of the party while chatting with Steven and Carli and all the host couples but then went to check out the spa with our new Seattle friends. It was a new experience but we had fun. Late night snacks, and a dip in the hot tub ended this night.
Thursday - Our last night here we decided to do it up right. Started drinking in the pool while watching Brian AKA “The Rock” dominate the twister game poolside. We took the catamaran cruise to Ricks Cafe - Got naked and partied the whole way there before putting clothes on and raced to shore. (Jumped before we were told that we are not allowed) I took part in cliff diving while Denise sipped cocktails and had appy’s after the jump we were treated to a tour of “the Bob Marley caves” by some locals. I’m not sure I believe everything they told me but I don’t care as it was beautiful (there is a hidden little sandy beach inside) and then swam under all the rocks to get out. I cut my finger on some rocks getting out of the water but otherwise was yet another highlight of the trip. We again snuck in on reservations with new friends and ate Japanese again, then got ready for Toga night. I highly recommend putting very little effort into toga’s because the first thing we did entering the disco was take them off. The foam party is unlike anything I have ever seen or done before. The bubbles were higher than my waist, everyone was naked and sexy as hell. We danced and shook what our mama’s gave us with everyone there. This was one of the hottest things either of us has ever experienced and can not wait to do this again. Completed the night as usual with snacks and a great hot tub session with several other couples. There is no other way to explain this party than to say “just go see it for yourself, you won’t regret it.”
Friday - We confirmed our reservation for next year with Lesley before getting on the bus for the long trip home. Pretty hung over we rode the bus to the airport. Club Mobay staff did not greet us as they did on arrival but did give us passes and help us through when asked. We ate some finger sandwiches in the VIP lounge before boarding a relatively uneventful ride back through Toronto to Edmonton.
To sum up our first experience going to Hedo and travelling with the Young Swingers Week all we can say is wow and thank you. Hedonism staff was very outgoing and entertaining. All the host couples were more than welcoming and worked tirelessly to pull off all these events for so many of us, while somehow finding time to mix and mingle and introduce new people too. They really put their own vacations aside for all of us, it wouldn’t have been the same without them. The downsides to this trip were so few and small in importance that we jumped immediately at the chance to rebook for next year and can’t wait to see all of our sexy new friends again. Only 353 more days, come party with us next March.
