Is Halloween week scary for newbies?

    Hello all,
My wife and i are planning a trip for Halloween oct 24th-nov 1. We have never done anything like this before and were wondering if we picked a bad week to start. I see that 3 different groups will be there at that time. Does this mean we will be odd balls out? we didn't book with any group? We consider ourselves to be more on the exhibitionist and voyeur side of things. We are life style curious and im afraid we have more questions than answers.
Any advise from you more experienced members would be very welcome.

    Quick answer:
You'll be fine, and will have no end of people willing to answer any questions you've got.

    The longer answer:
As far as feeling like the odd couple out, this will be our 6th trip across 5 different groups, and we've yet to see any group exclude people just for not being in 'their' group. More so, every group we've ever encountered was very welcoming of group-less folks. On our 1st trip we didn't book with a group either, but found ourselves quickly adopted by one who brought us into their circle of friends. About the only thing that you'll find at all exclusionary is that some groups do a private function in the piano bar or on the main pool deck which is only open to their members. We love the feel at the resort when there are multiple groups there; each group brings something special that they call their own, but are more than willing to share in the good time that everyone is there to have.

It really doesn't matter at Hedo if you're straight up nudists, exhibitionists, lifestyle newbies, or dedicated swingers. 99.9% of the folks who go there treat everyone with respect, and the occasional individual or couple who does not is quickly shunned. You may well get a question from folks along the lines of 'What are you two into?", and any boundaries you establish with your answer are respected from that point. Simple responses of 'no, but thank you' toward any propositions you're uncomfortable with are likewise honored and appreciated as being straightforward.

We're booked for Halloween week, 10/26 to 11/2. Say Hi if you see us there!

    Hugs & Body Shots!!!

Thanks for the response Loco. We look forward to the adventure. I hope you dont mind us asking a few questions along the way. We are both a young 45. Would you say that is about the average age for the groups that will be there?

Happy to offer any insight we can share. We're in the same age ballpark as you (Issac is 43, Julie is 37); we can't say from personal experience on Halloween week, but most weeks we've been have tended toward mid-30's to mid-50's. In our experience it doesn't matter what age you are, but the mindset you approach things with. We've met couples in their 70's who were the life of the party, and 20-something's who made wallpaper paste seem interesting. You don't have to be an utter extrovert, just be willing to smile and talk to the people who are smiling at you... Minded, most people at Hedo are smiling, it's kind of hard not to once you're there.

The guests are what make the whole experience. Picking the right week to coincide with the group(s) that most matches your style of fun can be a crap shoot unless you happen to communicate with some group members ahead of time. We went on our last trip over Thanksgiving and the crowd definitely skewed older as far as we were concerned. Better luck next time for us! Your results may vary. Regardless of when you go, the worst that can happen is that you spend some quality time at an incredible all inclusive resort. Not too shabby!
