Hi, The diving is pretty good. I have similar history. Certified in 70's, active about 10 years and did not make a bubble for a long time. I took a refresher at home and had it when I went south. I think that is a good plan for a number of different reasons. Dive site at Hedo is PADI. Pretty well equipped. They actually have "storage" at the Dive Office for your gear so you don't have to carry back and forth to room. Dove Whitehouse and Negril area's of Jamaica. Dive master buddies up the group. Regs and BCD's seem pretty new. My only concern is that the 2nd stage is not soaked in any kind of disinfectant or even sea water. If you don't have your own you may want the think about some type of wipe. Was in Cuba in January and dove there. Made me really appreciate having the Dive Boat at the resort. At Hedo a dive burns about 1 3/4 to 2 hrs of daylight. In Cuba we were bused to a marina, taken out and bused back. Probably took 7 hours to do 2 dives.
