    Negril Clothing Optional

Looking for a hotel in the Negril area that has clothing optional area. We are going to Hedo for a few days but our budget isn't enough to spend all our time at Hedo. We want just a regular hotel that is C/O. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Unfortunately we haven't found one down the beach. Firefly used to be C.O. but recently changed ownership and changed it to a textile resort. We spend a few days after Hedo each year to relax, but we end up staying busy and enjoying some of the local night life.

If your timeframe is within the next 60 days, you might want to give the Grand Lido a try. They are however closing for major renovations at the end of April which I heard will take a while. Good Luck

If you could live with topless for the week the whole beach is legally topless, I've tended to see most of the topless sunbathing down the beach around Merrill's which seems to be all adults.

    Yes.

//Couples Negril has an Au Naturel (mandatory nude as opposed to clothing optional) section but if price point is a concern it may not be a player as it is more expensive than Hedo.

The only two nude places that we know of in Negril area are Couples and Grand Lido but since budget is the concern they are both going to be out as they are both more expensive than Hedo. We've stayed at Club Ambiance and it has a nude beach but it is at Runaway Bay. It is about 1/2 the price of Hedo, but not a 10th of the fun.

Technically, yes. But you see very little of it. On the main beach through Negril you will see the very odd woman topless in a lounger sunbathing, but very seldom are topless women up walking around. You will see a few more topless women at Sensatori and Sandals, but once again, just sunbathing.

Yea, it's true, nobody is up walking around. The only nekkid party is at Hedo.

Since I have only been to Negril twice it makes me no authority on the subject,of course. But the two short stays at Sandals after our Hedo visits I observed the Sandals crowd to either be reading or eating.A few actually swam in the pool some or made use of the beach boats type of activities.Very little socializing and absolutely no topless ladies and just a few with bikinis.I hope they all had a great time.........

You could check out Half Moon Beach. There are little cabins with their own little beach front.

1/2 moon is not really budget friendly.
Although there aren't any C/O's left on Negril strip, we've gotten into staying a few days past Hedo trip at a budget hotel (still like the all inclusives..or the option for it offered by some hotels.) Booze can add up quickly when paying by the drink. Once you are in Jamaica (flight is expensive part), a few days down the beach to unwind can be alot of fun. Relax during the day, and at night there is a ton to do. Always a live band playing at Alfreds or Bourbon Beach each night, we discovered a new place last year called Drifters...Wed., Friday and Sunday afternoons live Jam session with local people and redstripe bucket of 6 for $13. The guy who owns it was a Drifter in the 60's and sings a bit each afternoon.
So if you want to explore a bit, get a totally different Jamaica than the Hedo only version, we highly recommend a few nights of something completely different!

Great post, agreed and we like the Alfred's/Bourbon Beach recommend.

Mid beach rocks, love it. But you gotta go when it's rockin which isn't all the times that Hedo rocks which is all the time.
