New to Hedo...question about groups

My wife and I...late 30s - mid 40s...been to Temptation and Desire RM twice each...decided to go somewhere different this summer and decided to try Hedo. We booked for June 20-27 a few weeks ago at a time when I was in a hurry. Now starting to look into things a little more (nothing like doing research AFTER committing...). I noticed at the time I booked that if you hook up with a group the rates are lower, and that's what we did (SeX Games, Tabu Travel). But now having found this website, I also see there's Hedo Rockers, Wild Women, Krazy Krewes...etc. This is different from what we experienced booking at Temptation/Desire. What is really the importance of choosing the right group to book with, given we don't know anyone anyway? I guess the concern is are we entering into a "clique" environment where all these groups stick together pretty much exclusively?

No, the groups aren't very cliquey, and the best part is you have gotten a better rate. When you get to the resort the only difference is that your committed group may have a private party or two which you can attended. Usually most groups have a meet and greet which is usually private.

Now, if you don't hit it off with your group (unlikely) there will be three other groups to party with. Groups aren't that exclusive that way. Usually any outdoor party that the groups sponsor are open to everyone and they will throw a bunch between them. Many people come with one group, hang with another and join that group the next year. Mostly people do that because they find a few friends they hit it off with from a different group. Other than that it will be hard to know who's who within the groups on a regular basis.

Hedo isn't like anywhere else in the Caribbean, you will meet a ton of people from all of the groups and people with no groups. There really isn't a lot of importance in choosing the right group, just as long as their theme isn't something that doesn't fit your vibe, but that is rare. As far as not knowing anyone, get to the nude pool as soon as you arrive, say hello to the first person you see while waiting for a drink and it's all good friends from there on out for the rest of the week.

I would add that most groups are not usually "cliquey" but you will run into some events and activities or takeovers that might exclude you and certainly special perks for the individual groups will likely not be made available to you. As an example, our Krewe de Krazy Life will have our own professional bodypainter--Pashur-- bodypainting only the ladies in our Krewe and our gifts & special identifiers and meet/greet party.

However, as a veteran of many June weeks with groups like the Rockers & Sex Games---we all get along quite well and interact a bunch. We have inter-group activities and it makes for a great week at Hedo and much more social interactions than you might otherwise encounter.

We're in that group of people that book first, then ask question later. We did join a group before arriving at H2 though, but it was after we booked, but before we arrived the first time. Found they weren't our "Vibe" but still had a great time with them. On the over lap weekend we met some great people who were there the previous week, and joined that group, the next year. We did the same thing the second year and met great people from the previous week to our new group, so in year three, we joined that group, and stayed with the second group, but dropped out of the 1st group.
We didn't find this site till after we had been to H2. Thank god we had a local TA who had been to H2 to lead us through our concerns.
Sample the different groups in your time period, find one that matches the vibe you want, then join that group the next year.
