    Arrival at Cancun airport

I know I have read some posts regarding using the ATM at Cancun airport to get peso denominations for tipping and local offsite purchases but I can't locate those posts now. We are going to Pearl for a five night stay. What is the advice for how much Mexican currency to withdraw and in what denominations? We are also wondering about how much time after arrival time and baggage claim do we have until meeting our resort transfer service. In other words, would there be enough time to hit the ATM and the duty free shop to pick up some Baileys or other specialty liquors without missing our transport service? Thanks in advance for any advice. We are booked in July 2015. Anyone else going at that time?
    Going to Desire Pearl 7/16/16 - 7/23/16

Depending on date and time of arrival you can be through customs and pick up your luggage in 20 minutes to 2 hours. There are several transport service and the typically pick up several different resorts and drop them off on their route. If you have private transport then they will wait for you if it is a regular transport then you have plenty of time to pick up what you want because they constantly run. Grab a beer as you walk out of the airport and it makes the wait in the van nicer. One note, watch out for the time share sellers as you walk to the exit. Stay in the middle of the walkway and don't stop. They will offer to help, but just walk straight out. There are signs that point the way out to the transport/shuttle area and once out it is easy to find your ride. Enjoy!

We've used USA transfers and would do so again, we had great service from them. For a few extra bucks they stopped at Walmart so we could stock up on supplies, great place to get the liquor you want. I wouldn't bother withdrawing any Pesos from the ATM, American dollars are widely accepted and you'll have no problem using them anywhere, just take small denomination US bills for tipping. Buniff gave great advice about the time share people, don't listen to anyone who tells you that they are your transfer to the resort while still inside the building. Once you're outside all the legitimate transfer people will be there and they hold up signs so you can find them.

We are set up with Aventour for transport because of the freebie for the early booking deal. Maybe they could do a stop off too.

Possibly, you'd need to check with them in advance to see if they do that. If it's a private transfer shouldn't be a problem but if its a regular route bus-style transfer then probably not. Walmart is not on the way to the resort, when you leave the airport you have to head north towards Cancun to hit Walmart instead of south towards the resort so it's something you have to set up in advance.

Timeshare people will wear you flat out in Cancun and at the resorts or at least Temptations. Does Hedo have timeshare people pestering the hell out of people?

No, timeshare isn't a big thing in Jamaica. We've never been approached by anyone about it.
