    Theme Nights

Been reading several posts on Theme Nights and some posts make it sound like everyone dresses up and then others sound like nobody dresses up but attends.

Question is, how many people typically dress up for theme nights by men and women? Hate to spend a ton of $$$ on costumes and be the only ones dressed up. But then again we don't want to be the only ones not dressed up.

Honestly it's killing us having to wait to go, so excited to go for our first time.

Some weeks are more the others. Do what you feel comfortable with. Even if you are the only one who is dolled up (which wouldn't happen) that just means that you will look the best!

    ^ Great advice

We love theme nights and theme parties. The participation in the group we travel with (Hedo Rockers) is very good, but we'd do it even if we were in the minority. For us it just adds to the fun. If its not your thing, no worries.

I will say that compared to Desire for example, the theme wear tends to be a little more fun/light hearted. The advice we were given is "less is more". The main dining area is not indoors/air conditioned. Some of what we brought for the male half (long pants, some long sleeves, etc) just got too hot.

I think most people do the theme nights. The first time we went to Hedo we went to HEDO III before it closed a few years back. I noticed the first time we went to HEDO II the costume participation was not as high but still a lot of people do the theme night. We don't spend a lot of money on the theme. For example you can get a school girl outfit on eBay for as little as $20. Here is a link you might find helpful.

Keep in mind the themes have changed from those on the above link.

Personally I just think it's good for a laugh and adds to the pre trip fun. A few years ago when they had the pirate theme Gail really did a fabulous job on pirate costumes for both of us.

First, you will never be the only ones dressed in costume for the themes. Secondly, don't over think the themes. You don't have to spend a ton of $$$ for any of the theme nights. Just think about them and use your imagination.

We had really good pirate costumes a couple years ago also Our last trip in 2012 we did a couple of theme nights. This year we may just kick back and admire everyone else in costume It's all fun either way.

Plus people dressing up can often win prizes during the dinner entertainment, everything from a bottle of booze to free nights at Hedo .

It's so hard to understand until you're there but you truly won't feel out of place no matter what you choose to wear. Anything from shorts and t-shirts to sexy club wear to themes.

We tend to dress for the themes we enjoy the post. Jim seldom dresses for them unless I see some really cool costume I want him to wear...kind of the same for me. If I don't find something I really HAVE to have, I dress in something sexy. But I see lots of people in shorts/shirts/sundresses.

I actually make my costumes, not just purchase ready made. More enjoyable for me and I control the price. doesn't have to be a lot, or expensive. I may not be winning any contests, but I enjoy myself

We will be there from feb 28th to Mar 10th. We will be participating I'm all of the themes. At what point do most people get dressed up? Sounds like some do before and some after dinner. Going by the "less is more concept" will you be allowed in the dinner hall?

You must have all "personal parts" covered. This could be by mesh or something equally ineffective. ...

Please consider a towel to sit on if you choose to go that route

Krank74. Glad to see another couple committed to the theme nights that week. The wife is all in and spent a great deal of time shopping for the right outfits as well as money. From reading some of the posts I was concerned that we may be the only ones showing up to the theme night.
