Burlesque week September 22-29
Monday. An uneventful travel day, arrived in Jamaica at 1:45 pm, spent around 30 minutes in customs, located our transport and arrived at hedonism at 5:00. We were waiting on the bus for a long time and hit rush hour traffic. For any Canadians using air Canada Rouge, they don't have in flight entertainment but if you download the air Canada app beforehand you can access their in flight entertainment. Check in at the hotel was a breeze and we were brought champagne while we filled out our information.
On the way to our room we actually met a couple we'd chatted to online. Hey W&K!!
After reading so many bad reviews we were pleasantly surprised by just about everything. We were upgraded to garden view nude I assume because of low occupancy. The room is basic but has everything you need in a hotel room, (even three porn channels and CBC which allowed hubby to watch hockey while I was getting ready for dinner). A bottle of champagne and fruit tray was brought to our room because we were celebrating an anniversary.
We unpacked, grabbed a shower, messed around for a bit, got a drink from the main bar, took a walk around the resort then went to the dinner buffet which we thought was fantastic. We met a couple while waiting for the buffet to open who were also Hedo virgins and there by themselves that we ended up having dinner with almost every night. The boys got dragged onstage to dance with the ECs for what they thought was one song but went on for quite a while.
Unsure what to do after the burlesque show the four of us ended up in the piano bar early (Eldon at the piano bar is amazing!!!!) and sat at the piano with yet two more virgins, none of us aware we were about to be part of the entertainment. Having drank way too many oral fixations at dinner I was ready to sing (and dance on the piano) with the slightest encouragement. I don't remember much of the night, I only remember having to get naked to get a hamburger around 2AM.
I'm not comfortable nude so I wore a wrap to the beach, dropped it in a lounger and hid behind a pole while my food was being cookedHamburgers are my thing and this one was fabulous!
The next morning was rough for hubby, so I got up had some breakfast, brought some fruit, coffee and juice back for him and unpacked while waiting for him to recover (for better or worse ladies
He'd come back to check on me which wasn't necessary but it was appreciated because he'd bring me a drink when he came.
We left when the rain started, had a "Hedo nap" and a real nap before dinner.
Most of the days were basically the same so I won't continue to do a day by day.
Being the consummate planner, I knew before I came to Hedo that it'd be day three before I would soberly venture to the nude side. My stomach was in knots as I took off my bathing suit and laid on the nude beach lounge chair. I knew I'd attract more attention crawling to the beach trying to hide so I walked to the water and ducked under as soon as I could. After a bit of swimming hubby wanted to go to the pool. I wrapped my towel around me, grabbed our bags, took a deep breath and headed to the dark side. All of that day and most of the next I spent with just my head and shoulders sticking out of the water, but by the last day I was on stage participating in the naked scavenger hunt. The last day I started shooting tequila at 10AM, so that could have been a factor in my participation
Newbie note: Don't let anybody make you feel you should get naked before you're ready. I don't regret taking three days to get naked, but I would have regretted getting naked before I was ready. You may wish you'd gotten naked earlier and even feel you've missed out on something, but if you get naked before you're ready you may spend your entire vacation out of your comfort zone and end up ruining your vacation. People who are comfortable naked can't begin to understand what goes through the heads of those of us who aren't. We are retuning in February and I hope I'm more comfortable earlier in the trip, but if I'm not I'll take my time again.
The staff is fantastic, the food is great and the rooms are more than adequate. The shower can be a bit tricky but the water pressure and temperature was good all week.
The only thing I wish was better was the beach. I love crashing waves and a sandy bottom. However, the beach at Hedo, while sandy, had a lot of "eel grass" and we were always nervous of stepping on an urchin (never saw one near the beach, but past reviews had us on edge). As I said, even with water shoes I was still nervous walking through the grass/seaweed. Now I'm not saying someone should be raking the beach more, it's the natural bottom and we shouldn't be disturbing it. The clothing optional side was nicer than the nude side for the beach. My water time is usually 75% beach 25% pool, but it was opposite for this trip.

No sooner did the words leave her lips than I was sittin at the computer looking for the best deal. That was three trips ago now and we just go right over to the nude side without much of a thought. I agree 100 percent if someone is not ready you have to be patient. We look forward to meeting you both. We are there same week as you guys.
