The in between report
Hello all,
We have almost reached the half way point of our Hedo vacation.
Arrived Friday afternoon at 11:45 and we in the bus, on our way, by 12:30. We have never been so fast through passport control and customs.
The bus ride, @ 1.5 hour, was nice as always. We prefer the bus because for us it is part of the build up to arriving at Hedo. We like seeing the local houses, people, and other island sights. Not for everyone we understand, but we think the 1.5 hours are a good investment, especially for first-timers.
Check-in was a breeze. We went to the Toms Trips desk, got our envelope with room number and goodies. 3 minutes after arriving in room, bags arrive.
For the next 30 minutes, controlled room explosion. UNPACKING
We are in an OVN old room. 2225.
Room is as always, clean and practical. No bells and whistles. We have hot water and plenty of towels. Only area of improvement could be more hangers and one more clothes dresser (but only because we bring way too many clothes to a nude resort).
Before going to the nude beach, quick walk around to see the improvements.
The new court yard is a clear winner. Nice garden furniture, not too stuffed, and wifi free hotspot.
The piano bar is fresh and the entrance is new.
Where the previous jewelry store used to be is now the wine area. Big selection and classy. Looks like something out of a magazine (this is "pay as you go". Not included in normal price).
The new coffee bar is where the old wine bar was. Right by the DJ both. We had a latte and a double espresso there. Excellent (we are partial European coffee snobs... So please take our word for it). Coffee bar is also pay as you go. Small costs $4.00 large costs $5.00.
The store is still at is old location, but has increased it selection on items to buy.
New public bathrooms are very up to date and modern. Only funny thing is that the urinals seemed to be placed for Giants (I am 5'10", and almost have to stand on my tippy-toes to reach it).
Friday night was lobster night with all the trimming. Lots and lots of choices. Martini bar, desert bar, salad bar... Goes on and on.
The other days (talking about the food now) were all satisfying. Good selection, always fresh, cold was cold, hot was hot. Had some jerk chicken on the prude side grill... Yummy.
Ok, NUDE SIDE POOL.
Lots of people doing lots of fun stuff.
Bathrooms there, also new, also improved, and also made for Giants. The only negative comment I heard was from a few ladies who have to walk past the male restroom to get to the lady's room. There is no wall, doors, or anything to shield the view. So, you get to see some guys peeing. (To avoid this, you can walk around the other side).
Lots of beach chairs, but very few blue "floatty - thingys". No issue with towels. Just ask and you shall receive.
DJ plays all sorts of music, so there will be times were you are jamming, and times where you go "WTF??".
We also had dinner at the Japanese and Italian restaurant. Both meet all our expectations.
Gym is still the same. Nothing to report there.
All in all, we like what they did with the place. Atmosphere is still Hedo even if there are a few more sex police walking around (if you come up for air at the exact time they walk by, "no problem man").
Ok... That's it for now.
Will write more later if you guys want me too.
Cheers,
The chemist and the flyer.
PS: please excuse the grammar and spelling mistakes.
