New toga parties

In the good old days when Hedo had a Toga night they used to provide the sheets for guests to use. There was a time when it was a toga party and pretty much everyone used those sheets and wore togas. Then it morphed into a costume party with everyone wearing Centurion costumes, or Spartan costumes, or Egyptian pharaoh outfits, or gladiator costumes, basically anything spanning 5000 years of history, but very few togas. Anyhow, the question is... will Hedo now be providing the sheets again for those of us that are toga purists?

I think someone asked that on the Facebook page and they said yes, they'll sell sheets... double check but I am pretty sure... I just got white fabric and do this from home, cheap and easy...

They are selling them in the gift shop in different sizes, not sure on the cost though. Easier to make at home and bring it.

That makes sense to sell them in the gift shop. They lost so many when they used to give them out that I don't know how they did it for all those years.

On our first trip (2011) we used the sheets supplied by the resort. There was hardly enough material to make a decent toga, however, we got creative and managed to rig something up. As the original poster mentioned, most people had Centurian, ect. type costumes. When we returned home Herladyship made us costumes, but unfortunately Toga night was taken out the next year. Glad to see Toga night back so we can finally wear our costumes.

It got to a point where people were ripping sheets apart to make their toga so by the time they stopped, all that was available were pieces of sheets. I'm sure most of us have a job lot type store nearby to buy some cheep flat sheets.

That's what happened to us, not enough pieces large enough for a comfortable fit (things got crushed that shouldn't get crushed ;-)

Much better than a sheet is a piece of nylon net curtain. I could show you some exceptional photos of what can be done with the thin see-through material -- but what gets photographed at Hedo stays on my system. Nylon curtaining (or muslin etc.) is SO inexpensive. Don't spend on real sheets!

Be creative! Saw an excellent 'toga' built from a face cloth. Have photos of costumes made from a sheet turned into a rope.
