We're not new to C/O but this is 1st time to Hedo. We're trying to decide between joining a group (YSW) or just going on our own. Either way will be an adventure and we'll meet great people, but any thoughts from "experts" would be appreciated.

Hi there,,,I'm certainly no expert because I've only been to Hedo 10 times now but I'd recommend that you consider a group for your booking not only for the $ saving but if the group is large or a near take-over then knowing some of the members will make your stay even that much more fun.

You can only benefit from being in a group. They are usually very cheap or free to belong to. They can get you a better rate and you can join their pre-trip chats if that's your thing. They sometimes have private parties which can be okay, but best of all, you don't have to do any of it or participate in anything at all. Your hosts might be a little disappointed you didn't join in, but you'll be welcome back either way if you behaved yourself the first time. So what's to lose.
You may find yourself involved with a bunch of crazy folks you just can't wait to get together with again next year. It's fun to be in a group and have 100 people you consider friends show up, it's very welcoming. Like a big happy family

This is the spot to get great advice, we went solo on our first hedo trip and it was amazing. Met two couples and almost six years later still friends even though we are from hours away from each other. However the price to book is better with most groups, and you get the benefit of having the option to meet, join in their festivities. Trips 2-5 we booked with groups and # 6 is also with a group and we saved $100 per night. Either way the best advice I was given was to read this site's forums about you/yours rules and expectation, even though you have done c/o in the past. Good luck and enjoy the hedo experiences.
