Gym Equipment

To anyone who has recently been to the resort, what kind of shape is the gym equipment in? Has any of it been upgraded? Get there Friday and like to start the day with a workout!!

We were there in September and were pretty impressed with the gym. It's very well equipped, with modern equipment... And plenty of it. More than enough for a good workout, regardless of training method. That was our first time at Hedo so we don't know if it has been upgraded, but you shouldn't have any issues getting in a good workout.

Did they get new treadmills? When I was there in February, they were a bit lack-luster, one rarely worked right. Hoping this issue got fixed. I tried running the grounds but there wasn't much to run and I felt like I was running in circles fast. (and I don't run fast AT ALL).

On our last trip 3 years ago I think one treadmill worked...so the Mrs ran the street - once...not for the faint of heart.

I have had visiting fitness instructors tell me that Hedo has the best resort gym in the Caribbean.

We were there a few weeks ago and nothing had been "upgraded". Its pretty much the same as it has been for the past few years since Tyson got there. But everything seemed to be in pretty good working order. I wouldn't expect upgrades to this gym since it is already much better equipped than most resort gyms.

Bummer, of the 3 treadmills they had only one was in good working order, one had one speed (way too fast for me) and the other was out of order. Hopefully they at least got them serviced.

Sorry, I said regardless of training method, but I don't use cardio equipment much (I prefer to use weights, but really should do more cardio) and didn't think to check out the treadmills, etc. I did see a number of people doing cardio on the machines though, so they seemed to be working in September.

LoL...I am a long way from 50!! (both in terms of body and years!!) lol Just hoping that the cardio equipment is in good working order, the weight room is excellent especially for a resort gym but like to get in a brisk walk in as well. I sometimes swim a few laps at the main pool after my workout before breakfast, great way to start a day!! Friday can't get here soon enough!!

Last time I was there in June , everything was in working order, I would also agree they have a really nice gym. I can usually do my normal workout with the equipment they have . Plenty of free weights as well as machines.

I didn't use the treadmills during our trip in November but it looked to me like they had new ones? Now maybe I'm mistaken as I only looked as I walked by but all were definitely working. Maybe they just cleaned them really well because they "looked" new.
