    Priority Pass/Club Mobay

Has anyone used Priority Pass to access Club Mobay?
I know it's one of the participating lounges (for departures only I think) but I don't know if it gets you the fast-track through customs or just access to the lounge. I've also heard it's only honored if there is space available so I'm wondering if they take reservations when using the card.
We loved it on departure in September even though Mr. Screech was so hungover he only had coffee and water

Confusing me, what is the difference between club MoBay pass and the priority pass? We are heading down at nye and will be departing on sat the 3rd along with the other ten million people loading out that day so I am looking into the quick jump ahead on the customs line. I thought that was what the MoBay pass did for you. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Need to know which pass is best for crowed lines at customs.

Priority pass is a card that gives you access to 700 airport lounges worldwide. It costs between $99 and $399/year depending on the membership level you choose but we got ours as a bonus with our credit card and haven't used it yet.

Club mobay is the lounge in Montego Bay airport. You can purchase club mobay for arrival ($50) or departure($35) or both ($80)

Our card gives us access to the lounge for free but I don't know if it gets us the service that gets us through security quicker or if we are only allowed to enter the lounge when we get to the departure area after cleaning security. I don't think it applies for our arrival.
We haven't done it on arrival but I can see it being worth it if there are a lot of flights coming in the same time as yours.

We just used Club MoBay during LoveVooDoo Fest in early November. As newbies to Jamaica, we had no idea what to expect. Upon leaving the plane and following everyone down the ramp toward immigration, we were greeted by Everett holding a sign with our names. He insisted on carrying some of our things while welcoming us. He was funny and genuinely friendly. He escorted us past HUNDREDS of people standing in line, to the front of the line. He checked our immigration forms and completed them for us when he found them lacking. After immigration, he escorted us through customs. (I didnt't realize we went through customs at all until I asked later and remembered waltzing past a woman he says was customs.). Then we were taken to Club MoBay. Immediately, bar drinks were provided and replaced just as we finished them. All this while Everett waited in the line to arrange transportation to and from Hedo. He then escorted us to the bus, handing us off by making sure w had all necessary paperwork. Club MoBay on our way hm was fantastic as well. Separate immigration and security lines. Buffet food, open bar, waitstaff, lounge. If we are ever lucky enough to go to Jamaica again, we will DEFINITELY use Club MoBay services.

On Jan 1 (my last time departing Jamaica ) there was no longer any departure immigration /passport control.

Doesn't answer the OPs questions but wanted to clarify.

Just my opinion but I wouldn't think that your card would cover the expedited service the club Mobay provides. Upon arrival there is a CMB representative holding a sign with your name on it who then escorts you through all the areas described by Texas2step. When signing up for the service they want specific airline and arrival times. We like it for this reason but the club itself is a nice perk. But it never hurts to send them an email to get conformation. Hope it works out for you.

For what it's worth, I have Priority Pass Select and they wouldn't even let us in the departure lounge with that level of membership.

We've used the Priority Pass many times with Club Mobay for departures )it does not cover arrival service). There is a booth to the left of the security entrance. They will look at your card and then escort you through immigration and security in the First Class line. You then walk to the lounge in the terminal and check in there. It has always been a pleasant experience and they have separate "family" and "kid-free" areas.

I used Club Mobay on the way out last year. I was at the airport two plus hours before my flight so it was nice. I was there about a half hour and a dozen folks from my group showed up, then my flight was delayed. It was fun, food was nice, drinks were very good. I'd have spent $35 at M'ville or JBobsled, getting lunch and a couple of beers. Instead I had apps and many many beers.

    Cheers

MoBay was awesome and we will definitely be using it again on our next trip! It's just like Texas2step described it!

Texas2step is right on. It's some of the best money we spent (other than the Hedo rates!). The service is amazing, and it felt great walking around hundreds of people in line at immigration! Our hostesses even reviewed the immigration cards we completed on the plane (can't actually remember what they're called) and corrected mistakes that would have delayed us. I highly recommend them.

For additional thought: I always fly in on Fridays. It adds an extra day to the trip and there is no one at Passport control or immigration. Last year I almost beat my luggage. I hooked up with my ride and was outta there 20 mins from the time the plane landed (I was the 1st one off the plane).

    Cheers
