    new media players in rooms

Just got back and had a great time of course. While we were there new clock radios and media players were being installed in all the rooms. They weren't really high end but it saves us bringing down our own speakers now. The unit has adapters to play right off your apple devices... ipods and phones... or to plug in an android phone and play your music from that.

Other changes since we were there last January...

New courtyard is beautiful. Umbrellas on beach are great. Piano bar updates fantastic. New bathrooms in courtyard are super. New beach chairs comfortable.

Thanks for the updates! That's great that they have new clock radio/media players. I know on our last trip a few guests' rooms were missing the old clock radio CD players.

PROTIP: Place a piece of tape over the light switch that controls the power to the electrical outlets by the night stand, if that is where your clock is set up. This will keep you from accidentally turning the power off to those outlets. Otherwise you'll find your clock constantly flashing 12:00.

Do you still to bring a strip for all your charging devices or have the outlets also been upgraded?

This is real good news...I hated setting and resetting those old clocks, especially if my eyeballs were not straight! LOL

For those talking about taping the switch, the first outlet as you walk into the room next to the drawers and mirror is a full time live outlet for the clock, no need to worry about which switch is on or off to keep the clock running. Granted you have to get out of bed to turn the alarm off but that is useful after a day of drinking if you don't want to miss dinner. 10 trips in 10 different rooms and this has always been true.

That's where I've put the clock in past trips but we had to use the tape trick this time because our room 2238 in H-Block didn't have an outlet by the mirror when you first walk in! I thought I was going crazy but it seriously was not there. The only outlet on that side of the room was on the other side of the mirror & dresser closer to the window and it was occupied by the fridge and my girl's hair care appliances.

I bring a strip. This one is really convenient, has 3 outlets and a USB charging port. I always travel with it no matter where I go.

You can get that one from Amazon:

Or the updated version with 4 outlets but no USB port:

Good Point Raam. The new ones are not plugged into these outlets but rather the outlets on the wall with the mirrors. These outlets aren't controlled by the light switches.

You can bring a strip if you like. We just take turns charging. The batteries on our newer devices all charge really quickly and hold charges a lot better than in the old days (like three years ago old days).

This is awesome news! We always bring our iPods down to listen to music but had purchased a player small enough to carry with us because we didn't have anything to play our music in the room. awesome!

We too have a small player. Nice to know they have them in the room. Unfortunatly being Hedo, I will still bring my player as I would hate to rely on the room player actually being in my room, and that it will work. Always nice to have a back up plan.
