My wife and I are making our virgin expedition to Dream Pearl on February 19, 2015. Any of you there at that time? We do not know what to expect. Any tips for the uninitiated? We are both a bit nervous about this (not pruds, obviously, but have never ventured into this water).

Mrs. CoupleInMD79 and I have not been to Desire Pearl, but we have visited their sister resort, Desire Riviera Maya (also near Cancun).

It's completely natural to be nervous before your first visit to a place like this. I'm assuming that you're already comfortable with the idea (or at least aware) that Desire Pearl is a clothing-optional resort, and a lifestyle-friendly place. So here are a few things you can expect:

Expect to see most everybody naked, most of the time. Not in the restaurants of course, nor at the theme nights where people are encouraged to dress in sexy, theme-oriented attire.

Expect to feel comfortable getting, and staying, naked pretty quickly. People are so friendly, welcoming, non-judgemental, and open that you will probably lose your self-consciousness before very long. You will find people of all shapes, sizes, ages, colors, and body types, all enjoying the freedom of vacationing in their birthday suits!

Expect to see people having public sex. There are designated public places in the resort where it is permitted to engage in sexual activity, including around the hot tub, the nearby beds, and the Sin Room off the disco. For many guests, this is a major reason for their choosing a place like Pearl to take their vacation.

If the mood in the hot tub is high, expect there to be lots of flirty, naked fun in the late afternoon. This could mean everything from an innocent sexy rub in passing, to body shots, to oral pleasuring at the water's edge. It all depends on the crowd and the vibe on any given day.

Expect respectful behavior at all times, including respect for the cardinal rule that "No" means "No". No one should ever do anything they do not want to do, and should always feel free to stop if they're uncomfortable.

Expect to be asked some variant of the question, "Are you in the lifestyle?" many times during your stay. This is a natural enough question to ask at a lifestyle-friendly resort, and reflects the fact that some guests are confirmed swingers, while others are not into swinging but like the sexy atmosphere. Hopefully you will take the question as the compliment it is intended to be, and will have thought about how you will answer. This doesn't need to be a simple "yes" or "no" thing- use the question as a starting point for an open and interesting conversation! Maybe you are ready to have sex with your spouse in front of others. Maybe you would like to try playing with your partner while another couple plays on the bed with you. Maybe you are looking to soft-swap, or full swap, or make a huge pile of bodies! Maybe you just want to watch others. Use the question, "Are you in the lifestyle?" to talk about your fantasies and concerns with the most open and friendly people you're likely to meet.

Expect to have a great, fun, sexy time!

We will be arriving on Feb 17. Never been to Desire Pearl, but have been to Hedo 3, so we are semi experienced. Like others said, and fears about body image and public nakedness are over in the first 5 minutes. We'll heat up the hot tub for you.
