Do I remember. We were in Paris, trying to get to Venice. 1 hour before flight time Easy jet pulled the plug. No options from Easyjet. So we rented a car, drove to Nice France and caught a train to Venice. Our few hour flight turned into a 30 hour trek.

Nothing like those european overnight trains!!!
I did the Paris to Rome one a few years ago.... the gentleman travel companion thought it would be a chance for some sexy fun. HA!
I wrapped my scarf around my head, popped a few advil PM and hoped for the best!!!

If your renting a car, be careful of the ZTL zones. We got nailed 2 months later, after we got home, for the violation.
If you have any questions, just ask. We spent about 20 days travelling in Italy.

Yea the European trains especially the Italian ones can be a little rough at times.

If possible make sure you go to Nice for a couple of days, the beach is still really nice in Sept. If you stay at the Beau Rivage ( original Cezzanes in the lobby) they have a beach deck with food and beer and it's really fun and not that expensive From there you are only a short distance to Monte Carlo and you definitely want to spend a day or two there. Good luck, have fun

I think you just set out a whole other vacation for me!
I'm already doing too much -- hopefully next time I can try these places -- and Cap d agde!

And as of this morning, we can add the increased UK terror alert to the reasons my parents will not sleep while I'm away....
