Hedo voice-loss cures/home remedies while at the resort

I think that most of us who have visited Hedo have experienced it first-hand or at least seen someone who has lost their voice after a few days if partying at the resort, likely due to yelling over the extremely loud music at the nude pool or club, or just from talking constantly to all the awesome new people we are there with.

I would love to hear some remedies that any of you have come up with, whether it's something you can get at the bar or something you bring from home. I would love it if they could just turn down the volume of the music, but even if you're able to they don't keep it down for long.

Personally, I try to work in a dirty banana every now and then, I find this cold slushy drink very soothing to the throat, and I also try my best to just refrain from yelling over the noise and just get closer to whoever I'm talking to but that can be hard when you're carrying on a conversation with several people at once.

One thing I'm gonna try next time is munching on gummy bears. I have heard that these candies are used by some singers to keep their voice strong and soothe their vocal cords. I'll just have to resist the urge to soak them in vodka...

Any other ideas or remedies?

A singer friend of ours has warm lemon water a short while before performances and swears by it... Not sure if adding a lemon wedge to rum and Coke with ice will have the same effect, but I'm willing to give that a go.

There is a herbal tea that someone I know introduced me to called "throat coat". I have on in the am and one in the even and the last 2 years I did not loose my voice. I am one of those people who by day 4 hardly has a voice and by day 6 I have NONE at all. I highly recommend it!!!!!

I think I found the one you're talking about. I'm gonna order some online if I can't find it in a local store. We both love herbal teas so we're gonna give it a shot. Thanks!

Bring one very large can of lysol and spray the shit out of your a/c unit. This year I found out for sure that it's the a/c, not talking too much.

Here's a dumb question-I bought a can of Lysol for just that reason and then got the impression from TSA's website that they didn't approve of "household cleaners" etc.Anyone know what the official position is?Yeah,we all know Lysol is harmless but we live in a world of regulation and not sensibility right now.

Depends if they catch you or not

I know someone who did have a can taken from them, but most times they would think it was hair spray

From the TSA web sire on what is not allowed in carry-on and checked bags:

Aerosol (any except for personal care or toiletries in limited quantities)

One can of Lysol won't trigger anything. Sometimes we can find travel size cans of Lysol.

Aerosol is classified as a flammable item so anything except personal care stuff (in small amounts) is prohibited by TSA and will be confiscated if your checked bag is searched. Being in the "flying" business, I can state that even cans of hair spray will be removed from your baggage if inspected. Best way around the rule is take your item in a pump spray container if sold as such, but even then if container is labeled as flammable you risk confiscation of the item.

Have carried the same can now for four trips without it being confiscated by TSA. So mileage may vary at other airports

I assume in your checked bag which is subject to random search. Some airports have a higher percent of random searches then others. Interestingly, my last checked bag search was out of Kalispell MT...go figure.

Yes, they take Lysol, it if they search ur bag. Speaking from personal experience. Then u get a nasty gram from TSA. Surprising they did not take my aerosol hairspray, mousse or alcohol infused whipped cream. Maybe they needed more than we did...idk. Seems random.

Every bag goes through x-ray at (MCO) Orlando International so it is seen but has never been taken along with my 10 lbs of sunscreen for the wife. Guess you just had a TSA agent on a power trip. Seems to happen often these days, they think they have more power than they actually do in real life.

Hot water, honey and lemon in the mornings. I usually last about 2 days before I lose my voice. I am definitely adding "throat coat" tea to my Packing List!

PS: My throat issues are from over talking, dry scuba air, and I'm sure the AC doesn't help. I suggest asking the front desk to send someone to do a "special clean" since you're sensitive.
