Ok,I bite,how does one tell the difference between a Canadian and a U.S. citizen?Incidentally,we are looking for our Canadian friends we met last year to be there.
Wont be hard to spot us though with our pronounced Southern accents!

They always ask at dinner at least one night per week and people respond with applause.

Word of warning......the "sand" volleyball area is about 4 -6 inches of sand with hard ass rock under it.....diving for the ball will end up with nice big raspberries on your knees!!!

On our first trip in 1990 we also thought we were playing on a concrete pad with sand on top. While it may feel like hard ass rock it is actually just the sand packed really hard. When we first started coming to Hedo the court was under the tree (where the pool is now) and Paulette's bar was around the tree where the hammocks are. We would have them rototill up the court (yes, they actually had a rototiller). With the new VB court location every once and a while they will use the tractor with a drag behind to loosen the sand but then all the roots are also loosened.

On our trip over Thanksgiving, the Canadians outnumbered the Americans at Hedo. You will have no problem fitting in.

We were in the same boat 3 yrs ago , an we have never been naked in public before. People talk about the lifestyle a lot on hear because that's what "there" into. But a lot are not. We asked an agent that specialized in selling Hedo vacations an they suggested a group to us that were more of a social group.. We told them we did not want to be pressured or feel out of place because we did not swing. At times there are groups there that do that an some that are not so into that or at least hide it better.
I wouldn't let the swinging thing get to you , because I really think it depends when you go how much you will see of that. I feel the time we go is great for beginners or for those dipping your toe in. As far as the volley ball thing goes well.....I think you will be having to much fun to be worrying about that. lol

Well put..just like you said! Lifestylers are non pressure so its out of the norm to be "Pressured" ...we mingle with all walks and do not judge. It is the "Vanilla" where you will find that problem. "They", judge before lifestylers would.

Reading these posts got me thinking, we generally classify Hedo people as in the lifestyle or not, but that's too back and white, there are various greys in between. Point being, every person is into something different, and I've learned from my trips each time I amend my boundaries a little. Some ways more adventurous, some ways more vanilla. So, decide what is right for you, and have fun saying yes, or a polite no thank you, and you will have an experience you will never forget!

We are in the lifestyle and active..so this is a vacation for us. Not a place to hook up with other people. We can do that here at home, & We do! Going to Hedo for us is...to experience what life and exotic destinations have to offer. If play happens then it does. If it does'nt then oh well. We are selective with whom we play. Plain & Simple...we are going to enjoy ourselves with others. Not to enjoy others with ourselves. If it does...Great! :-)
