Best time from late June- July -Early August?

My wife and I are looking to maybe visit Hedo for the first time this summer any week from late June to early August. Is there a week in there we should avoid? A week we should consider?

People will tell you that any week is a great week to visit Hedo--especially for newbies like yourselves and I would agree.

Of your timeframe, I prefer mid-late June for several reasons:

1. My group has celebrated summer every June at Hedo since 2005 so the time is special (this year is it June 21-28)

2. June means warm nude pool & beach waters

3. The true rainy season/hurricane season is less likely to impact your vacation in June rather than July or August

4. Our Krewe de Krazy Life Group shares the resort with a couple other cool groups during the same week

5. Airfares & group room rates are usually at their lowest

6. Most schools are out so group members are more flexible in their travel plans

7. The resort has never been oversold so their are no issues for that, no long lines or waits, etc.

Just a few points to ponder. I hope they help!

Look over the groups attending once you narrow down your weeks. Consider our Krewe in June with some of our other Hedo rookies!

Is it better to book straight from them, or go through a travel agent?

Groups usually get a better rate than trying on your own. June is a great time

Some groups use a travel agent or travel agency for bookings to get the group rates & other perks/benefits of the group.

I personally manage all bookings of the KrewedeKrazyLife via my travel agency. Other groups vary.

We're limited in our power if choice by when our parents can watch our kids. So if they say early August, that's when we go.

We're liking what we read in the reviews! Is it price worthy to buy a prude side room? We're educators and the extra $1000 for nude side isn't chump change.

I'd stay on the prude side to save money. It doesn't make much difference on what side you sleep on. It's the fun of the resort that counts.

The decision to book a prude vs. nude side room is completely up to you.

Basically, and except for the new premium rooms, all rooms are essentially the same and the only major difference is distance between frequented locations (nude pool, buffet, beach, lobby, piano bar, disco, etc).

As 1st timers, I would save the $$, book the prude side room & determine if it meets your needs & wants. If not, if the resort is not sold out, you can always upgrade to a nude side for a few days and try that out also. Just a thought.

Dear, The Travel Slut, I think we are kindred spirits. On my maiden Hedo II voyage I packed costumes for every night including 2 awesome wigs. If you had a winter group I would book with you for sure. However, we live up north and are not rich so our warm island trip has to happen during the winter. Hope to meet you one day. xo

Well cinnamonflixx.....I may ultimately have two groups....a summer & a winter group but for now we will just have to share our costumed fun stories. Warm wishes to you & yours this cold winter season.

I agree with what has already been said. Pick the week that works best for you. My wife and I go at the end of July for our anniversary. We go with AWOL, which is a great group, but I must say that the people from Love Voodoo and the other groups that we have had the chance to meet and party with are just as awesome. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the groups that we have encountered.

So far as booking nude vs. prude, it really doesn't matter. Just because your room is on the nude side, doesn't mean you aren't allowed on the clothing optional side and vice versa. Sure, if you book a prude side room, you may have to walk an extra minute to get to the nude pool or nude beach, but so what.....lol.

Ultimately it comes down to what weeks the grandparents are willing to watch the grand babies (our kids). Looks like the first two weeks of August or last week of June into 5th if July are the ones on the board as possibilities. We're also still deciding on Hedo vs. Desires, but leaning Hedo.
