    "Man Boobs" Just Aren't Sexy - Working Out Before Hedo Trips

    Because I generally go to Hedo in March, it is important for me to work out regularly at my local gym from January 1st up until my trip in order to lose the holiday season weight. Just wondering what (if anything) everyone else does to get in shape for their Hedo trip?

    I think everyone does! Although its been said over and over size does not matter (not the tool size) ....some how I think a lot lie about this.

    I totally go into shred mode right after the holiday "bulking season" because the beach season usually starts in late Feb/early March here. I get especially motivated if I have something like 7 days in Hedo running around buck naked in the sun to look forward to!


    My routine to get and stay in shape is this:

    I clean up my diet by keeping track of what I eat using the myfitnesspal website and app with a goal of losing 1.5 lbs per week. I also hit the gym 4 - 5 times per week to weight lift for 45 mins and do 12 - 15 mins of HIIT cardio.

    The lifting is important so that no muscle mass is lost, and it's also important to eat high protein, moderate fat, lower carbs to accomplish my goals.

    Hoping to lose at least 10 more lbs before heading Home on March 21!

    Well exercise and proper nutrition daily is the key to a healthy body/mind. Still don't know why people are unaware of this, but good for you. Couch's kill, glad to hear of you doing this, however, what about doing yourself a favor and doing this regularly so you won't have "man boobs". Take a week off of your regimen when you go on vacation, but when you get back, get back on it! make it a part of your life. As far as Ken above says, he's right. Beauty is symmetry (exterior) and personality is the expression of one's inner self. Why not work on both?

    I got into fitness a few years back when I quit smoking I went from 220lbs down to 165. It feels great to not have to carry all that weight around. I still cant quite get rid of all the fat but some of it is loose skin I think. I've been cutting back on the cardio and focusing on the weights a little more so now there is muscle under those sexy man boobs of mine . The good new is I seem to always loose weight while at Hedo .

    I'm 5'10", 225 lbs. My hedo prep has included cutting carbs and calories, increasing squats from 400 lbs to 500 lbs, increasing bench from 315 lbs to 350 lbs and doing all those other exercises for the "beach muscles." Leaving Sunday morning at 5:30 am and I am ready!

    Give it a try, I cramp up around 50 to 75 pushups anyway, lol. But I'm hanging in there considering that I just turned 55.

    Actually, I don't have "man-boobs". Just thought that would be an amusing tag-line for this thread. For all the nudist talk about body-image and "size doesn't matter", the fact is that people seem to be more attracted to those who are height-weight proportionate and have firm bodies. So, I go to the gym after New Years to lose the holiday weight and get "properly pumped up" for Hedo in March. Once at Hedo, I have to rely on my charming personality to do the rest.....LOL.

    man boobs... woman boobs... it is what it is..... not going to go to the gym just to get ready for hedo...lol... if i'm going to the gym its for me.... but i agree... size does matter when we are looking for play mates.....and the personality is important for everyone.... we enjoy chatting and making friends with everyone.... but the personality has to be there....

    I start every year on Jan 1st for a third week of April trip, then I immediately stop till about mid-Feb. I find if I keep my 42lb curl bar in the bedroom I'll trip over it enough to have to move it which reminds me to use it.

    For about the last 60 days I try to do: three sets of 25 curls, three sets of shoulder presses and if my back isn't killing me three sets of 35 sit ups.
    I eliminate a lot of carbs, cut way down on bread of any type. I eat a lot of fish and veggies stir fried with olive oil (different rub every night) and stop eating junk.

    I have a goal of 182 and I'm hell bent to get there before I get on that flight. During the week, it's my vacation so bacon is okay, soft serve ice cream is okay, French fries, sure, no problem. If it rains I'll go up to the gym and work out while I'm there and I do blow through the gym to weigh myself during the week and I usually come home about the same weight.

    Yea, I work out all year long (have for the past 37 years) and I only do it for me..... but getting ready for Hedo is a nice excuse and a nice motivator ;-)

    I also work out for me, and while I have never been very heavy, I did hit close to 200 at one point. At 54 I told myself I was never going to be one of those, öld guys", and I started doing P90X and I fell in love with it. At 58, still doing it, and I am in better shape than I was at 25.....But alas, I am still old. I even hit the gym at Hedo for about 3 or 4 days of the week we are there.

    Damn, you guys are not only putting me to shame but making me want to go and hit the gym right now. I'm 6'1" and weigh in at 227lbs. Not bad for my height I guess and pretty proportional I think considering my build but can always lose some and trim down. Booking for April 26th - May 03 so I guess I better my ass in gear.
    Wishful thinking became a fantastic reality.
