    Southwest to fly to MoBay

Just read today that Southwest will fly daily to MoBay starting in July. They'll fly direct from Atlanta, Orlando, and Baltimore/Washington.

We're booked on a Southwest / Airtran route for our trip next week. Since Airtan is now owned by Southwest their free baggage rules supposedly apply to the whole route. Never flown either airline before so we're keeping our fingers crossed. We're looking forward to getting away from the cold in 8 days.

We drive from Alabama to Atlanta the night before our flight then fly direct to Mobay via AirTran. That's how we did it in December and that's how we r doing it in March. The only difference is we flew nonstop in December. This time we have one stop in Zorlando but our flight arrives in Mobay about 3 hrs earlier and we wanted to get to Hedo as soon as we could!

Last time we went to Jamaica via Airtran it was 20 bucks a bag. And thats out of BWI.
We always try to get a business class upgrade so the bags are net less the difference.
    But so worth it!!

Flew the combined SWA / AirTran route. Everything went well bags flew for free since one of the legs was on SWA.

We tried Southwest for our July 2014 trip to Hedo but as of now no flights connect from the central and west U.S. unless you do a 13-22 hour lay over. in the summer and fall Southwest will be adding more flights connecting to Mo Bay. so for us, for now is American or Us Airways for $900 each and 10 hours travel time.

FYI....As of yesterday (March 25), there were available seats from Orlando (MCO) to Montego Bay (MBJ) on Air Tran (Southwest) nonstop for mid-late June for USD $333 round trip per person total and that includes two free luggage check-ins. This fare will likely not last long.

    Hello T.S.!
For us the flights from west Texas get into Orlando just in time to miss AirTran to MBJ. So we end up with a 22 hour? (Or something like that) lay over in Orlando or Atlanta. And we tried the other airlines to get in to Orlando earlier but none make it in time that we found. If someone knows a better way we would love to know. we have not bought our plane tickets yet but have paid Fluffers for our July trip WOOOO HOOOO!!!

Hi there.... airfares often do not match optimum flight times unfortunately. I would recommend that you try for flights into Ft. Lauderdale(FLL for Air Jamaica/Caribbean Air & Spirit) or Miami (MIA for AA)) to pick up a later-in-the-day non-stop to MBJ. I did not check Orlando for Jet Blue but their flights have always been either 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 pm from MCO.

Plug in www.airfarewatchdog.com for the dates and city of origin/destination. That is how I was notified of the Air Tran fare from MCO.
