    Cost

Comparing the cost of a Couples Cruise with the cost of a "vanilla" cruise makes me ask what makes adult only cruises that much more expensive? I am more than willing to pay a little more for the luxury of no children on board, but the prices are significantly more. Are there other benefits that come along with these cruises that I am unaware of (free booze maybe???)????

If your talking a lifestyle cruise...it is because they can. There is a limited market and they upcharge it over a regular cruise because they know they can get it. Much like the adult only lifestyle resorts around...they can charge a premium based on limited availability for that type of resort.

So, that's the only reason the prices are that high? If these cruises sell out all the time at the prices they are getting, then why wouldn't more cruises be offered more frequently? Seems like a logical reason to increase the market.

You know that the "Couples Cruise" full take over charters ar focused towards Lifestyle people, right? They have HUGE general play rooms, Theme play rooms, Seminars, "Workshops", Special guests. The whole ship gets into the "Risqué" theme nights, etc.

Trust us... Been on both vanilla and "Swinger's" cruises. NOOOO Comparison.
SO much fun and filled with just great FUN people! Also, a bit more upscale as they can afford to pay extra for what we want!!

    Just our opinion.

First, let me say thank you for the response. Yes, I am aware that it is a "take over" of the entire ship. Wasn't aware of the rooms, guests, etc though. Thanks for that clarification.

One more question...what do you mean by "they can afford to pay extra for what we want"? What is more upscale?

As sabinaandscott mentioned in their post, they charge a higher price because they know they can get it. It's what the "market will bear".
As for LS cruises being more upscale than vanilla cruises....
We've been on a RCCL Freedom class ship, for BOTH a LS cruise and a Vanilla one in the past year. So basically comparing apples to apples.

The nightly parades, all night deck parties, the involvement of the Cruise entertainment staff, etc. is WAY more over the top and prevalent on the LS Cruise. Absolutely everything is catered to adults only and the more open mindset of LS people!

The ice is removed from the skating rink and turned into a disco, the main deck pools become a booming rave everynight (no family movies shown!! LOL), one of the nightclubs has numerous beds and curtains set up with towel attendents and cleaning staff constantly around, the private parties in the bars/nightclubs/meeting rooms, Even the RCCL TV gets more risqué and involved!!

We could go on and on. In our opinion, Couples Cruises are worth EVERY extra penny and then some!!! And STILL... Best of all..... NO KIDS!!!! LOL

I can answer some of your questions from the source

Our cruises are more than a normal cruise for a couple of reasons:

    1. You'd think we get a great deal chartering an entire ship, but it just isn't true. We pay almost the exact same price you'd pay, if you rented every cabin on a ship at retail rates. You'd think we would get a big discount. Nope. Others have tried and found out the same thing, after paying for the ship, we need to factor in our other costs just to break even which include:

Commissions: We pay travel agents a commission for selling our cruises. This comes off the top

Entertainment: We add a lot of additional bands, headliners and DJ's to perform on our cruises

Staffing: We bring 45-60 staff members on every cruise to help with set up, tear down and work shifts throughout the cruise cleaning up/changing sheets in the playrooms and dungeon, as well as patrol the ship to make sure no one is misbehaiving in public

Education/Seminars: We bring on people to teach classes, do demonstrations and lead seminars from everything from couples massages and speed dating to well known sexologists and Doctors that go over everything from performance issues to jealousy and communication. And a couple of Pole dance classes for fun.

Production: We bring on additional sound systems, lighting, stripper poles, beds, pipe and drape, signs, decorations, theme props and much more. All of this has to be stored, shipped and restocked for every charter.

Office: We have a full time office for customer support and questions. You can call us M-F from 8 am till 4:30 EST with any questions at 800-927-6672

Printing: We print programs for the passengers, beach bags full of goodies, signs that show our daily schedule, banners, directional signage and much more.

The other posters are correct, a Couples Cruise is no comparison to a regular (vanilla) cruise. It is a lot more fun and you certainly get what you pay for. We have a high repeat customer rate which shows that we are doing something right. Each charter has been better than the last because we have added things and made improvements based on customer feedback.

We hope you will join us on one of our upcoming charters, we are the leader in Couples Only, Adults Only, Clothing Optional Cruises. Go to http://www.CouplesCruise.com to see for yourself.

Do these cruises typically book to capacity of the ship? Specifically, if I went on a regular cruise where there was somewhere around 4000 passengers, would a couples cruise on the EXACT ship have around 4000 as well?

And its that "couples only, adults only, clothing optional" atmosphere, with all the things that C&C mentioned, which has prompted this vanilla couple to go on Celebrity in May! Couples Cruise was highly recommended to us - by another vanilla couple - and we can't wait for the cruise! We'll be participating in just about everything except the actual swinging!

Thanks for the welcome, we're excited! No worries if we're asked, don't mind graciously saying no thanks. We've been told that as much as half the passengers may be "vanilla" - a combination of nudists and folks like us who just enjoy the risque, sexually charged, party atmosphere - and NO KIDS!
