We decided against it as we have round trip and vip check-in already.

You have to remember that adultvacationparties is a for-profit business and they have costs for running their activities. They pay for transfers, the person doing the sex classes has to be paid, all the stuff that goes in the gift bags, etc. They make their money through people that book with them and if you don't then they either don't allow you to be part of the group activities or they charge you for it. It's not a scam or a money grab, just business.

We've gone to Hedo five times and only with a group once and we really didn't see much benefit in being with the group. From Canada, it's usually cheaper to book airfare and accommodation together as a package rather than book the hotel and flight separately so going with a group usually isn't cheaper for us. Also we tend to like to do our own thing and meet and mix with everybody, we've noticed that most people in groups tend to hang around together all the time and aren't really meeting a lot of people outside of their group. Not always, but more often than not is what we've observed.

We are going on our second trip in April and this will be our second group. As long as the rooms are cheaper and the group looks fun we are happy. We don't spend a ton of time with the group other than dinner or a few hours at the pool. We usually float in the ocean and spend time together. I like to talk so we met lots of different people not in the group but many in groups sort of stay together. We like everyone in our group but also liked all the other people we met....well not all...one was the resort jerk lol.

Thanks for the research, we are there the same week. We can't see paying $250 for the extras KarmaSutra group is offering either! we've been to Hedo and Desire with and without groups, both are fun and both have advantages! Just relax and have fun. All the rest will happen either way!

One thing we like about group membership is that you can expect to see familiar faces whenever you return.Where else but at HEDO are you going to experience that?Plus we liked the group we were with last year even though we did not get to meet them all.Plan on meeting more people this time now that there is an element of familiarity with the resort and what to expect.

We're not counting out joining a group. This was our first booking with Hedo and we didn't realize there were so many groups. Next trip we'll check out all the groups and decide which route to go. I'm sure there are people who belong to more than one group pending on the time of year they like to travel. Being from Canada we like to travel in the Winter.

It is def best to look into groups before you book and if you can book with that group then it is great

Yes, from Canada with Canadian "package deals" the price is often cheaper. We can't speak for all groups, and a $250 charge seems a bit over the top. We do not charge for membership...we want everyones vacation to be fun and all-inclusive. Yes we do pay for some things like our foam party and main pool party...but every paying guest to Hedo is included. We also run a variety of pool side games and activities. We also have trip giveaways, that only people booking through our cantract are eligible for, and we also provide transfer this year. Our hope is that in following years, people would book with our group if they liked what we offered. As the group gets larger...the more we can do...it's all about numbers in alot of cases. Not many groups are a for profit venture, or run by a company, most are run by fellow Hedo visitors, that just like to enhance the party, like ours.
We like to think that everyone can come and talk to us, we've met many people over the years that were not part of the group initially, but fit in quite well, and as a result the "soft marketing" worked and they've booked with us the following year. We also have several people that have been with us many years, but choose for whatever reason to book elsewhere. Hopefully your trip will be just as much fun as with any of the many groups available.

We agree with all the points that Travel Slut made earlier. She is right on track with all the advantages and dis-advantages of joining a group. Not all groups require booking with them to join. Our group, for example, does not require that you book with any specific travel agency, although we do recommend GoClassy. We also recommend that you comparison shop for the best rate. As to fees, we do not and will not ever charge anyone a fee to join our group. We operate strictly on voluntary donations to fund our efforts and that has worked out well for us for almost 15 years. We do provide all of the amenities of other groups including lanyards, welcome bags, personalized custom designed name badges and much more. For our last trip we had around 90 people in our group.
