New room Catagories/Descriptions/Prices for our April group

we have been down 2 times and # 3 is coming up in jan. we love it there... we have not had a problem with the room... a/c work great.... as for a tv... don't be in the room enough to watch it really.... hot water was fine.... for us alittle more money spent on the grounds would be great... like around the nude pool/ hottub .... new rooms are great we will get to see them in jan... but for us it really wasn't needed..... notsure how the higher price will affect us for 2015 yet.... we will have to see i guess.... its very expencive to get out of here,( Newfoundland Canada ) but god love the air miles..... if it wasn't for them we would be paying around 6000.00 for 8 days there....

We are headed to Hedo in 9 days with International Delights and Tom's Trips! I better start packing!
We are so excited to be returning for our 4 th trip, as Hedo is our most favorite place in the whole world!
The new rooms look great and the beach access and balconies are cool. However, we won't be paying extra for those rooms, so I hope they keep the "Retro" rooms available for awhile.
Room complaints have caused many people to stop coming to Hedo, so I think it is a good business plan to offer newer options to those people who feel that a fancier room is an important part of their vacation.
In our three trips, we rarely used the room. We stored our stuff in it, showered in it, and slept maybe 3-5 hours a night. Did have sex in it as well, of course. Other than that, we don't care what the room looks like, as we are not in it much.
We will plan to book the Retro rooms as long as we can for economic reasons. If we win the lottery, that would change, but, with 4 kids, our vacation dollars are tight.
Hopefully, Hedo will still be afordable for us in the future, as we love the resort!

The 30% increase is definitely what Harry has been telling us was going to happen.....and assuming the rooms sell, then they will upgrade more rooms to make more money....makes sense to me. Hopefully they'll keep some reasonably priced rooms....we are definitely more frugal shoppers for our vacation $$$.....I hope we don't get priced out.....but after 30+ trips, our days are numbered there anyway, so I totally understand them trying to lure in a new / younger clientele. I think lots of people will love new rooms and not have an issue with the price.

We also don't mind the "Retro Rooms" and hope they keep some (with some minor improvements of course). Like others have said, we don't spend that much time in the room anyway. A 30% increase would definitely be a deal killer for us, especially for things we don't want or need. For people who are willing to pay for a high end room with more amenities, fair enough.

I think it would definitely be wise to update about half the resort and keep half of it retro with new paint, beds, TV's hot water and a/c. That way people who want to nicer rooms can pay for them and those who don't care about that can still book the cheaper older rooms. Makes good business sense!!!

And people thought I was crazy for stating the rates went up. $2982 for a week, not including air nor ground transportation for a room that was renovated, which required it? Hell HEDONISM 3 was at $125.00 per person per day for 7 nights. THIS was only 3 years ago folks.

You didn't mention in your thread that it was for the renovated rooms. The renovated rooms have caused the prices to increase, but the non renovated rooms have not gone up at all in several years, except for this year, by about 10%.

I agree, it's a bit steep. I paid $2000 pp for a week in a first class all-inclusive in Montego Bay. That included air. Air was $500, so $3000 per couple for a week.
Is Hedo $18 from first class? no--not even renovated. But it's a niche and you pay for that. Plus, Hedo has included snorkel boat trips, hobie cats, scuba... all that was a charge at this place. So it's not TOTALLY off base...

That's not too many rooms. We like the prude side anyway so looks like we may get to keep going. Sure hope so because I think about Hedo about 10 times a day. I now have two vacation spots I want to visit each year. The other is way too sexy to say here lol.
