Whats with the prices?

We looked at Castaways to book with Kitten n Angels group, they would have matched the package deal from Air Canada, but couldn't touch the deal our TA gave us. Hmmmmm awesome avatar by the way :-)

We were wondering what was going on with price issues typed about here. So, the lovely Mrs. took a look at the Hedo website and was shocked at the "list price" for rooms on there. We are booked and not paying even close to those prices due to booking with one of the travel agents that are on here. You should talk with the agents who are regulars at Hedo and thus have a bulk rate to offer. You may find moving to one of the weeks that a group is going where the agent has a block of rooms will get you better prices. Hope that helps your bank balance.

As noted, booking through an agent who's affiliated with a particular group and has access to those group rates helps lower prices substantially compared to rack aka "list" prices.

Last couple times I checked online sites - including Hedo's - prices were way above what was available through an agents group rates.

Key is to find what agent sells the week you're interested in. I've used three different agencies to accomplish this in the past.

its looking like this may be our last time going for awhile... the price is gone why up over last year for us.... we paid it but we won't be paying it next year.... theres other places you can go and have the same fun.... its not the resort that makes it fun its the ppl... but why pay over 1000.00 more to do the same thing we did last year....its not the money for us as we can afford it but why pay that much more to have the same fun we had last year. for us its just not worth it...

yes it do look that way... we know others that are going in jan and thinking that this will be maybe the last time for hedo.... its sad but what can you do.....

ok, that was our thought this year. we booked a "nice" resort in negril, top notch, high ratings. well, we had fun, but one night, we did the one love pub crawl, met some awesome people, and guess where they were staying? hedo! our van even had to drop them off while we were still on it and my hubby and i wanted to jump off and run in. We missed hedo so much this year. we had a nice vacation, and the resort we stayed at was beautiful and had a great beach and awesome food, but, we were lonely! no friendliness of other vacationers or staff, not like the peeps you meet at hedo.and the kicker, it was about the same price. so, we learned our lesson. we will keep coming back to hedo.we will just have to cut back a little more on things at home, ie food, gas, etc, lol!

we know where your coming from here but its hard pay almost 2000.00 more for the same 8 days in jan. that cuts back on our other vacations that we take other times in the year..... i guess we will see.

What times of year do you usually go? Because January is probably their highest costing month since it is lifestyle month and their busiest month probably.

we know that it is the busiest time for them and the highest price.... but 2000.00 is alot for it to go up in a year.... this trip without air... is 5600.00... its crazy... we can go to cancun for 3 weeks for the same price.... we understand why its gone up but i think you will find the resort changeing over the next couple of years.... as everyone has said on here a million time.. its not the resort that makes the place its the ppl.... but if you start to not get the ppl coming the resort will be the same as any other resort.... so if you get the same ppl that makes the resort what it is going to another resort what will happen with hedo.... maybe its just us but thats the way it seems to be going....

Holy wow, is that on the website or did you contact one of the travel agents that month offering cheaper rates? Also, being in Canada have you looked at a package deal through a local agent with air included?

we went though toms trips. we did the air ourselves using points.... if we was to pay for the air it would put us somewhere around 7300.00 for 8 days.... not we do understand that we are getting a new room OVN but when we booked it back in feb... yes thats right we booked it right after we got back last year it was around 4000.00 which we didn't mind... but now we are heading up around 6000.00 for us we rather go somewhere else at a cheaper rate and spend more time there.... like i said before we do travel at least 3 times a year... so that do cut into that... so we are going to go out with a BANG this jan...lol
