    Food, wow!

We have been to Hedo 3 times and are booked for our 4 th trip in Oct. with International delights.
Except for enjoying The Jamaican food, we were not very impressed with the food on our last three trips. I actually lost weight each time, as the desserts were tasteless and the buffet was usually slim pickings. The buffet got so repetitive that by the end of the week, we couldn't find anything we really wanted and just made due. Lobster night being on Friday was a saving grace.
But, I just saw a menu on Hedo's Facebook page for their Jamaican theme at the buffet.
Crawfish bisque, curried goat ( which is always good) curried conch, tons of other selections and 12 desserts listed. My mouth was watering at the menu. I may actually gain weight on this trip.
This is the first trip that I am actually looking forward to the food.
I am glad that the new owners realize that we deserve to have the same quality of meals as the place next door. Our vacation dollars are just as valuable as the ones being spent at Sandals. For years, people have said that we didn't deserve yummy food, because " of the open sex allowed" . That Hedo could serve us canned peaches and we would still come back. And , we did! Because we loved the vibe enough to ignore the canned fruit. But it wasn't fair. We should be able to get good food like every resort out there.
Thank Jon, for stepping up and treating us right.

Cowgirl, we were there with The Fluffs when the switchover took place. We met the new Exec. Chef the day he came on board. I swear that the day he arrived, he found the hidden sugar in the kitchen as the desserts finally had some taste and flavor. The difference in food offerings from the first part of the week to our last few days was like night and day. I just hope they can keep this guy there.

Although we would indeed still go there if they served barbequed sandals, it's definately a nice improvement over the previous visit's menu.

Does anyone know if the menu at Munasan (or whatever it's called nowadays) and Martino's has changed as well?

We ate at Martinos and the Japanese steakhouse 2 weeks ago. Both had updated menus according to friends that joined us and had been to both prior. We had a genuine 5 star dinner at Martinos, amazing service by Serenah and the food was of great quality. Similar experience from the Japanese restaurant. The fried rice was amazing along with the fresh shrimp.

Good to hear that since our trip is 10 days away. We go to Martinos several times during our stay but have not been very impressed with the Japanese. Maybe we will have to try again...

The menus at both restaurants is basically the same as before, but better quality food is being prepared. The main Chef is Chef Green. The new owners have really done a lot for the food budget !

This is good news, I go off the food after about 2 days so hopefully the quality and variety will alleviate my weight loss while there! LOL
Only 186 days until I find out. Don't really go for the food but it would be a nice bonus.

I am hoping by next April they will have more potato products at dinner. They do not need boiled potatoes at breakfast, save those for diner!!! That is my only real complaint about the food as I am not a big rice person. All the rest of the food is great. The desserts were def better this past April, but then again, they are not as sweet as they look, so that is usually the problem.

Not a problem, first time in 2 years ive been healthy.
I do 30-40 miles on my personal and police bike a day now, plus P90X weight routine 3 times a week.
    Down 22lbs so far.
And when at Hedo, lots of lots of "other" exercise, lol.

Prior to the change of management, all of the baking was conducted across the street at Breezes. It's now in-house and they are quite proud of their new pastry chef.

If baking done elsewhere wonder if that food was good? We are happy to hear about the improvements. Can't wait to get in the new hot tub. This will be a first for us cause they are always booked a year in advance. Lucked out this time. Horay...DIF bad now.
