Are ashtrays more commonly available now or is it still advisable to bring our own down?

We bring our own ashtrays with us. When I asked at the bar for an ashtray in April the bartender picked up a plastic cup and put a squirt of water in it, lol
We bring one .....always leave it behind. The local VFW doesn't mind supplying them.
