Quick, Your favorite beach bar?

If my freaking head doesn't explode

before this Friday I will be at Hedo for trip six with the Bunch, 7th to Hedo, 11th to Jamaica.

I'm taking a bunch down the beach a week from this Wednesday and would love to hear what your favorite beach bar is and why.

All my old favorites are gone or have all gone upscale, I'd really like to get back to the authentic Jamaican beach bar, with nice easy going folks.

If you really want to see a great part of Negril and hit some of the local beach bars, check out Lemberts One Love Bus Bar crawl. He will take you to about 6-7 Bars in Negril. Buy a beer at each one and tip Lembert who drives and owns the bus. A great way to see what else is out there !

Once we took a cab to Margaritaville and bar hopped towards Hedo. There were several fun places. We plan on doing that again this trip.

Firefly! Mid way on the beach. You can be topless at the bar or naked on the beach

. Plus they have cheap red stripe and delicious banana cocktails

mine are Alfreds and Arthurs, one next to the other but far south, 15 minutes from Negril Village. met some cool locals and nice tourists there. Arthurs is the first ever opened bar on the 7 mile beach. Alfreds has good live reggae bands at night at least once a week. I'll have a drink there for sure this week. :-)

Would also recommend the Love Bus but if you are set on walking the beach I would highly suggest that you take a cab down to the other end and walk back towards Hedo. There is a craft market down by the Round-About where we started our walk. There are many more neat little bars at that end of the beach than coming from Hedo. We walked from there to Margaritaville and probably stopped 7-8 times...and we maybe hit 1/2 of the places that were open. Have a great time!!

We have talked about the Love Bus for a while now. We just have a problem keeping any schedule but it sounds great. Havent seen the far end of the beach yet. Might be fun to see it. We loved the bar at the Tree House, Tiki type bar right on the water. Sea Splash bar was nice too.

Also heard there are some nice bars on the cliff, besides Ricks, but dont know their names.

Thanks all for the help....Yes, we will be walking. I've walked from Hedo to the circle a few times and have stayed mid beach three times and explored it a lot. It's hard to know which bars are really open to the public and which are mostly for the guests. One love bus sounds like a ball, but I really enjoy walking the beach and going through all the other AI's and stopping here and there...............Keep the ideas coming

The Love Bus does hit all those bars down on the West End, before and after Rick's. While each trip is different, the one we took in March, 5 of the 7 bars we hit we on the ocean. I have a big section in my trip report on the Love Bus and Lenbert's contact info.

Aside from the few AIs we have drank at most or all of the bars on the beach. Just walk up and order. When we stayed on the beach a lot we got to know all the happy hours - walking from one 2 for 1 to the other

. Also there is usually an outdoor dance party every night but it moves from place to place on the beach. Ask at any of the bars and they will tell you where it is that night

I used to stay mid-beach as well and have drank at many of the beach bars. My favorite "The For Real Bar" went up-scale. Coco LaPalm is $$$ now, and they even moved the Rondel's bar up off the beach. For Real and Rondels used to have 1.00j red stripes, seems those days are gone.

This beach walk always ends at Best of the West chicken shack across from Coco LaPalm, that's the best. Thanks for your help.
