    Music in disco?

We were talking tonight about dancing in the disco at Hedo to a certain Bob Marly song or two, so the question we ended up with is?

Is there a way to play or request a certain song in the disco? From what we here for the most part the music is playing with no D.J., if not, is there a way to plug in SD card or ipod?

We will get down to whatever is playing,

just thought it would be cool to hear some of the stuff we have been listening to at home while day dreaming about our days at Hedo.

    Hey VA,

I agree, I think that would be a great idea and there have been lots of others suggesting the same in the past.

Went to the disco and can't advise on getting your music request. One night a couple was getting it on in there pretty good. PDA's were everywhere...LOL

I noticed the DJ had an iPod based player. I bet if you made a playlist handed him your ipod and a $20 he would play your music all week!

It's Marley....woops! I will have to bring our Ipod and a $20, and hope for the best.

I requested a couple of songs last year and it took over an hour for them to play it. We were walking away when we heard it. But there is a DJ there. Maybe if you slip him a few $$ everytime you requested a song it would happen quicker, but I wouldn't suggest a $20, that's a lot, lol

Bottom line is that the Disco is THE place that needs the most work at hedo ioo. Everytime we are at Hedo, his iPod is doing the DJing...except when the "Gold N Dayz" group was there in July 2012, then he was out in full force everywhere in the resort.

As we all know, the disco is really hit or miss. Some nights it is packed and going good and some nights just a void. Well we were in there one night when it was packed. He played a couple of songs and everyone was dancing and having a good time. I remember it well, "Its ur Birthday" was playing. Halfway through the song, no joke, he changes it to some obscure song that nobody knew and he kept playing this random playlist on his iPod and emptied the place out. I guess he didn't want to work that night or something.

I have only ever seen management down there when there is some type of 'event' like the returning guest dinner.

    Not...cool.

We hit the disco a few times when we were there (usually later in the night) and I found the DJ was pretty great for taking requests. I had a blast every night we were there, but then again... we always had a good crew with us which helps
    Perhaps we lucked out lol

I have never heard Bob Marley played in the disco... Even the poolside music is limited and very little reggae

Jamaicians see Bob Marley as "old school", they've heard it more than we've heard the Beatles. They don't play it at all on the resort, which is why I bring my own IPod boombox. It's funny when I do play some Bob walking to the beach (quietly at 7:00am) the staff seems to dig it.

The disco needs some guest DJ's, the guys they have now are generationally challenged (too young, LOL). They play what the average 25 yo Jamaician would like to hear, which is mostly stuff I never heard of and is very challenging to dance to. We've had a couple pretty good PJ parties in the past. Last year at the PJ party it was about 105 in there and the music wasn't danceable so we just wen't watersliding instead, perfect!

    Cheers

We were at the disco every night last year. I personally thought the music was pretty damn good, but I'm into the electronica thing. As for requests...well...I flashed the DJ on our second night there and he took every request I made

Did they change the music in the disco since the new owners took over?
