New to Clothing Optional Resorts

We are looking for a good place for our first clothing optional vacation. We were at Fantasy Fest in October and enjoyed the nude sunbathing, body paint and the over all erotic nature of the event. We aren't in the lifestyle but do enjoy public displays both watching and engaging. Is Desire a good for us? What should we expect? Is it a good value? Please help us decide. We are wanting to go in mid-April. image.jpg

Would also suggest Hedo as Desire is more Lifestyle orientated.

Desire has great points but we will not go back. Limited beach and NOTHING allowed on it other then walking and watching the sea. The "play" happens on the top of a building where they have a hot tub and bar then in the play room behind the disco at night. Hedo has lots of beach, things happen all over the "nude" only area from pool, hot tub, beach to the sea. Both places have swingers with Desire very heavy and Hedo a larger mix of party to swinger only mix. I spent a lot of time looking for wildlife in the swamp at Desire, I spend a lot of time watching the PDA's at Hedo.

I would totally disagree with Desire being more a swingers resort. It all depends on when you go and what groups or peole that may be there when you are there. Just returned from Desire, we had a blast and we are not swingers. Main difference for us was there is no PDA's at the pool and the food and service was 10 times better than Hedo. My dos pesos!!!!

It really does not mater which resort you pick. Keep in mind there's also Desire Los Cabos. You can be as straight or as lifestyle as you wish at either resort. you can be shocked out of your clothes, or you mind, depending on the week you are there and who else is at the resort. We've been to all three and had an excellent time at each. I suggest you try to find who and what is going (or going on) at the time you wish to attend. Some groups are exclusive and will not welcome you to their activities. others are totally inclusive and will welcome you (possible with open arms and a hug.
Pick a date, find whats going on, and pick the resort that matches your needs. Take your own body paints and start a trend --very friendly.

Hey just wanted to plug and recommend our annual takeover of desire resort RM, May 4-11, 2013. We know that it would be a good fit for you. You can bring your own paints, or you can use ours! Or, you can be professionally body painted by Achilles, for a small charge! We have been to many c/o and "lifestyle" oriented resorts, and this is our fav, by far.

The other posters have very valid input too. But, they may have only been to desire rm, or some other resort once. Maybe they didnt go with a takeover group. We have been many times and we like to travel with a group (the hot tamales and ynots groups). That way you know that the resort will be booked to capacity of like minded couples and that it will be ROCKING for the entire week! Desire LOVES OUR GROUP! They look forward to hosting us annually. They put on their very best staff and put on EXTRA staff, to take care of us. They bring their "A" game! Unlike "non-takeover" weeks at desire, (it could be hit or miss); we have the run of the resort and pretty much carte blanche............just about anything goes, anytime, anywheres; "so you can be ready, anytime the moment is right" LOL! We host our own activities, partys, themes, games etc and the entertainment coordinators assist.

While most of our group may particpate in some level of the lifestyle, (and you may not always see it) we have yet to see a puppy pile or an orgy. (Sorry) But who knows what goes on behind closed doors. And you'll be certain to find an audience if exhib is your thing. Desire is a much smaller more intimate resort, (114 room max) so the crowd, is not as diluted. There is no prude side or nude side. The entire resort and spa, is is C/O; so you wont catch any crap from anyone (or the textile police as they say at some places) regarding your attire or lack thereof. (ok cant be nude in the lobby or the gym).

The food is beautifully prepared and professionally presented and it is plentiful. The servers and maitre'd in the formal rests all wear tuxedos. If nothing on the breadfast buffet, or beach grill buffet, suits you, the chef is standing right there and will prepare something for you, right in front of you. (several choices of fish, chicken, beef, sausages, at the grill and omelets cooked to order at breakfast). There is at least one restaurant (pizza cooked to order and grilled sandwiches) and bar opened 24/7. Room service is also available 24/7.

The $1million USD renovation of the guest rooms, playroom and disco is complete as of Jan 1st. The disco was already incredible. Cant wait to see it in May! Desire does not allow the DJ and the staff "to invite" locals to party and hang out, in the evenings, like some other places. There is no smoking allowed inside.

Desire RM is only 20 minutes from CUN airport, via a safe, modern, divided, 4 lane highway.

My wife and i think that Desire is much more sensual, classy, squeaky clean bright and white, as compared to the jamaican c/o resorts. The mexicans work circles around the jamaicans! There is no "soon come mon" at desire! Desire provides adult beverage service around the pool and beach. Yes they wait on you!

Desire is a great all inclusive clothing optional resort, also you can enjoy the beautiful beaches like few in the world.
In Desire you can enjoy different eroctic activities, and also past a unforgettable momments with your couple.
In January (1st – 31st) there an event takes place for swinger, but it's only one month.
So if you wanna enjoy with your couple a clothing optional resort Desire Riviera Maya in mexico is great choice.

We've only been on a lifestyle cruise and to Hedo once, but our Hedo experience was very much like the Desire experience hostcouple speaks about. I'm not sure which Jamaican clothing optional resorts are being used as examples there, but the "prude" side at Hedo is clothing optional. The difference is the nude side is, well, nude. There's nobody with clothes in there. The food situation was the same (plentiful, large selection, and chefs to cook something for you if you wanted something different), the drinks were all shaken/blended (no slushie drinks there), staff was tremendous... We'd definitely go back to Hedo. And although we love the idea of the playroom at Desire, Hedo is far less expensive, meaning we can go twice a year instead of once. Mind you, we haven't been to Desire and we are certain it's a lovely place, but Hedo is also a nice resort with ample amenities.
