The " Other Board "

For those of you that go over there just curious what is the magnet. It is mostly negative feed back and seems that the crowd is just plain grumpy old people. I dont log in any more since the owner just seems to be against any real feelings or opinions. Anyway i was in a pissy mood figured i would bring this up for those that feel the same and can get away here for stating the FACTS.

That board is "The Place" to discuss physical plant and resort management. That stuff bores me to tears, so I mostly hang out here

That other site kinda' reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where you have to stand in line quietly, step to the right, dont talk, step forward, order your soup quickly, pay and get the fu@& out....

You get different perspectives from the two boards.

To me this board has much more of a lifestyle focus to it then the other board. As a result of that the posters here tend to be more willing to overlook shortcomings about Hedo (I go for the people/party, not the food/rooms, etc). Denny's board tends to draw a more varied group of posters in my view which is why you have more focus on amenities and more negativity there.

Just my opinion from lurking and occasionally posting on the two boards.

Ya....I think I am done over there. And if Denny doesn't reign in the negative bastards that post there on a daily basis he is not going to have much of a message board anymore. It has become nothing more than a circle jerk bitch session...they remind me of Al Bundy reminiscing of his glory days of high school football!

I don't go on Denny's much anymore, but am still one of the top posters there from years back. I go to check in every now and again and for each time get rather discouraged....same old, same old. As much as I love Denny as a person (he introduced me to Hedo on my very first trip 13 years ago and took me under his wing...which was back before he had a message board or was a travel agent)....I think he rules his board to tightly and it just doesn't work well with the workings of a living breathing board....exchanging ideas, good and bad, is what boards are for. Anyway, it is a sad farce of what it used to be...though still a good place to reconnect with old Hedo friends I haven't seen in 20 trips or so that pop up there every now and again. I don't think it is a very positive place for newbies to look for info that's for sure.

I also haven't been frequenting over here much lately as it's been a busy summer, but a trip is coming up, so perhaps I'll get the bug again. In the early years of going to Hedo the boards were nice to meet new folks and see what was going to be going on when we were there....now we are more casual about meeting folks and just kind of let it happen at Hedo if it's going to happen. Though we do still meet a few people online before we go. After so many trips we like the spontaneity of just letting things flow at Hedo and if we meet new friends, that's great, if not, that's fine too.

Anyway....this board is definitely more upbeat than Denny's....so more fun to visit every now and again.
