Breezes Runaway Bay is always an option, as is Secrets MoBay.

If you really want to be close to "home", contact Breezes GL, Swept Away, Couples Negril directly & speak with the Front Office Managers. They would be able to best tell how to approach the situation. Remember, they have to fill those rooms, so if you are going during a low occupancy period, they will probably make an exception to the "couples only" rule.

I have found that most hotels are very accommodating when their guests' concerns are expressed. Heck, when I worked at the Ritz Carlton, we allowed a kosher chef and all his employer's kosher food to be flown in so the family would be comfortable during their stay!!

Couples San Souci is a couples only resort... unless i got a "group" together. I don't think my parents and I count as a "group!" lol
While I'd love to be optimistic and say "Hey, maybe someone will go with me!" ... Realistically, what guy wants to meet a woman and go on vacation with her parents within months!?!?! lol

I'll will add another recommendation for Breezes Runaway Bay. We were there last May with our daughter (20 at the time) and we had a blast. Of course, I wore my Hedo tshirts which made for some fun and interesting conversations. Our daughter is heading back there on Saturday for Spring Break with one of her friends.

Secrets St. James ...in montego bay

Hi there. You know "the Secrets Resorts" Are mostly couples. I travel solo often and I am a personable chatty person and Secret's are a bit coupley. I tried Valentin and loved it as well as The Royal as it is right in Playa del Carmen so put Mom n Dad to bed and go have fun steps from your room. There are often girl groups there as well. Cheers

If you're not only considering Jamaica- We are going in a few weeks to adults only Barcelo Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It is an adults only property with full privileges (even a shuttle train that runs regularly) at the next door huge Barcelo Bavaro Palace. I have heard that it is on one of National Geographic's "10 best beaches" in the world, and has the advantage of being a smaller adults-only property, but with walking access to a much larger property with more restaurants, casino, waterpark, golf, etc. etc.

Of course, we've done lots of homework, but have not been there! Won't be the same as our beloved Hedo, where we'll be returning for trip #11 next March, but we are looking forward to trying it.

I agree, Mexicotraveler. That's how I actually wound up at Hedo my first time: I didn't want to go to a "coupley resort" (I love that term!) and feel like i was intruding on someones vacation because of my naturally social behavior.

Laura, would love to hear how Barcelo Bavaro goes! Not sure I'll convince my parents, though. They went to DR last year and were not terribly impressed. Of coursee, they were comparing it with Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya -- tough comparison!

Right now, we're in a holding pattern on the vacation.... so more time to plan!
So keep the great recommendations coming!

Couples Tower Isle in Jamaica has its nude beach on an island where access is only by boat. Wonderful 1930s style and food is fantastic.

Rendezvous in St Lucia is all inclusive adults only. definitely no naughty side to it. Tends to attract a more mature clientele, but younger couples and honeymooners as well.

Both, I think, don't accept singles.

So, after MUCH debate, the family has settled on Secrets St James in Jamaica.
Anyone who has been to Secrets, let me know a few things?
Is the Preferred side worth it? (Going "off season" in May)
Who did you dive with?
Any local restaurants you'd recommend?

Secret Resorts has locations throuhout the Caribbean, along with Sandals. These are adults only and you may see topless but not full nudity.

Our favorite vanilla place is Secrets Silversands in Mexico. It is a short walk down the beach from Desire RM. Excellent food, top shelf liquor, nice rooms. If we could be naked there it might just be the perfect place...
