After sleeping that first night and walking up at Hedo, though, large amounts of alcohol can no longer make me tired, sloppy or falling down drunk...I don't get mean or even rude to others...but remain happy and pleasant to all around me. Defiinitely not OK to drive, but otherwise seem fine. Maybe it is the tropical weather? or the pool/hottub water? or everyone being nude outside together and very cool about that fact? or the total lack of any responsibilities/obligations while on vacation?
I totally agree with all the posts. I learned at an early age how much alcohol it took to put me to walking on my knees, but somehow once we have entered the gates of Hedo all previously learned lessons no longer apply and the PARTY is on!! I know in Vegas the Casinos pump in a little higher Oxygen content to keep people alert & at the tables...but that certainly wouldn't apply at Hedo. Maybe it's the high octane wonderful coffee?!...Who knows, but whatever it is we love it! We hate to sleep and miss anything so we've worked out a system of taking two 3 hour naps that seems to work well for us...Altho it does take us a week or two to sober up and re-adjust to real life once we return home!

So what is it that keeps us all on full alert & in a constant state of party mode?!...Maybe just the idea of being so deliciously naughty while there that gives us a constant adrenaline rush or.....what...?

(I'm starting to think & plan for theme night outfits...purrrr!)

Like the way there are beers here in the US that only have 3.2% alcohol in them. I say this bc the only time I got fairly drunk was when friends shared tequila they had brought from home that was being kept behind the bar. Who knows!
I've had a few pulls off of that tequila behind the bar also...probably belongs to the same friend...Thanks Kelly (Spoonbread). As Kelly says it helps to round the edges LMAO.

I love the comments in this thread. THIS kind of attitude toward life is why we're coming to Hedo for our honeymoon, instead of staying at Couples Negril where our wedding will be held.

For comparison, check out this thread on the Couples Negril forum: Can you stay up past 10pm while at Couples???

10-11pm is when the night at Hedo is just getting started! To be fair, everyone at the CN resort is certainly not like this, and they even have a piano bar that stays open until the last person leaves. Sadly, I don't think they will let me dance naked on the piano. :<

That was absolutely hilarious reading the comments on the Couples website. Thanks for the good laugh aphrodisiac. A Hedo vacation is definitely different and not for the faint of heart.

My other half, Black Vulcan (aka He-Moe), is VERY familiar with the first day drunkenness! We say he's punch drunk- the combination of working Friday, taking the red-eye Friday night, some long layover somewhere, then getting to Hedo on Saturday, being excited and starting the drinking as soon as he touches down and continuing with no rest... well, you know how that goes! Last trip, my poor, drunken hubby was wandering around the perimeter of the dining room looking for his clothes...all through dinner! He didn't live that down for the rest of the trip ("Oh, your husband was the one walking around naked in the dining room!" "Yep...that's him!)

Usually we're good throughout the week, and then perhaps on our last full day we might "go hard". Luckily, I've never been hungover! Knock on wood (pun intended)
"Are you feeling Hedo's Mojo yet?"

OMG, I couldn't even make it through the whole thread cause it was gonna make me fall asleep!!! And that's what we keep talking about how Hedo is just "different" then any other resort you can be naked at.....we are talking about how we are like supermen and superwomen when at Hedo and stay up for days at a time and they are talking about how they fight to sty up until 10pm, lol. LOVE HEDO!!!!!

OMG, it is a fate worse then death.. cpls enjoying getting up at 6AM and seeming to enjoy it! Cpls Negril is evil.

Back to the subject. I too have had a "crash" at Hedo. Went to take a nap one evening to get Un-cranky from lack of sleep and woke up at 7AM the next day. Do NOT ask me to be coherent for three days after I am home however as the booze and wake up times change.

Seems like we have all had similar experiences... and yes, it does take 12 - 18 hours for it to take effect...speaking from experience...Last March, I hit the drinking from the first hour, and I had my first "Time Traveling" experience by 2am. No drugs other than alcohol and a long travel day in my system. After that night, however, I never even got close to that point again. Gotta be the elation, atmosphere, and people at Hedo. That being said, I look forward to it year after year!
