    Trivial Details For Newbies

    Hi All,

We're new to the forum and have been soaking up as much good information as possible before our first trip to H2.(Date to be determined.)

The FAQ only shows a search function. Haven't found a "display all" buttton which would let me read everything.

None of the negative stories or incidents we've read about on the Internet will deter us from going, EVER! :-)

But I do have some mundane questions about the resorts, H2 in particular, but welcome answers which apply to H3 also.

    1. Room Keys: Is it a key or a card? When you're naked, where do you carry it?

    2. All those PDAs going on: Not offended in the least about the idea. But what about those lounge chairs, cushions, pool floats, etc? My wife and I are long-time nudists and always carry our own towels, but then again, we don't get to engage in PDAs at our "usual nude hangout". How does the resort staff keep everything clean? How often? (I'm sure they aren't in the background like a boxer's support team waiting to wipe up all the stray fluids between rounds.)

    3. Vinnies & Wallies: I know that they refer to single males, but what's the difference?

    4. Is the resort as strict about showering before entering the pool/hot tub as regular nude resorts here in the States? (It might sound like a dumb question considering the amount of sex that can occur. What's the point, right?)

Can you think of any other little tips and tricks you veteran visitors can pass along to the newbies?

    Thanks!

    Rick & Kathy

    Rick & Kathy,

Welcome to Hedo.....you will soon be addicted. Just learn to live with it...LOL.

    To answer your questions:

    1. The room key is an actual key. It is tied to an elastic string/cord that resembles a ponytail holder, only a little longer. Folks usually tie it around their wrist or ankle.

    2. PDA's can and will happen just about anywhere. In our 14+ trips, we've seen the majority happen either at the edge or in the pool/hottub, or floating on a raft in the ocean. Raft's are not provided by the resort so you need to bring your own. The resort does provide beach towels so you have the option to bring your own if you wish.
Sex does happen on the lounge chair cushions sometimes, however the staff does not make a point of cleaning every single cushion. There are hundreds of them and logistically it just isnt possible. On the positive side, 99% of guests place towels on the lounge chair cushions.

    3. Vinnie: Single guy that assumes he can/will have sex with any woman simply because he is there. Will not usually venture to the nude side until midnight and head straight to the hottub where he will hover around like a shark, waiting for an opportunity to invite himself to join the PDA of another couple. Other Vinnies will wait til the wife away from the husband before making a proposition. You will find some minor variances that also qualify as a Vinnie.
Wally: Usually found in the nude hottub. Totally void of any social skills. Usually stares uncomfortably at other couples involved in PDA's. Or will position himself uncomfortably close to the action.
Both Vinnies and Wallies are usually harmless and can be shoo-ed away if they become a nuisance. Definitely not enough of a deterent to change your mind about going.

    4. In a word...NO. There is a sign on the wall that says shower before entering the pool/hottub, but definitely no enforcement or anyone policing the rule at all.

Lots of little tips and tricks exist at Hedo .....LOL. If you have something more specific...just ask!

    Thanks!

    hedo2cpl,

Thank you for that informative reply. I appreciate you taking the time to write back. We're really looking forward to our first trip, some day. And I'm sure we'll be in a hurry after that to make our second, third, fourth, etc.

True... but.... there is normally a plethora of unused ones that people have left (they write their trip dates on with a sharpee and when those dates have passed it is fair game). Also the chair cushions are functional rafts, and the resort has a whole bunch of those.

    Hi Rick and Kathy.

My wife, Ann, and I are going to H2 Feb 24th - Mar 4th and are REALLY looking
    forward to it.
    I'm a naturist, but my wife is a bit body-conscious (she's overweight).
I'm a noob to the resorts, and to this forum, so I'm not yet sure what PDAs
    are. No experience.
But when I'm at a naturist resort, I carry either a small bag or a fanny pack
(arrggg...the 80s) just to keep a few things like sunblock, and to have a place to
put my trunks if we stay on the prude side of the resort.
Personally, I always jump in a shower before going in a pool. We talked with
one of the resort managers at a travel show a couple of nights ago, and the
subject didn't come up, so I didn't ask.
Anyway, I'll browse the forums and see what I can find out.
    Good luck with your trip.

    Tom and Ann.

    For Tom and Ann,

"The Naked Truth about Hedonism II" is the best book! I read it cover to cover in a couple of days. I will read it again as our trip gets closer.

It gives all the details a newbie would need!

    Hi Rick and Kathy,

Since we just returned from Hedo 2 last week as you read in our trip report, we will answer your above questions also. Hope it alleviates the confusion. You asked about rafts. Like Chris replied, there are plenty of chair cushions that act as rafts and are available all day long.
We brought our own towels with. We also are nudist and this is routine at the camp we belong to. The resort does provide a cabinet of clean towels but they seem to disappear before 10am and the new stock does not appear again until the next day.
Keys are actually 'key cards' . When you get your key card upon registration ask for a wrist ring that goes around your arm. You can attach your key card to this. We brought large zipper plastic storage bags with us, as others did, to protects items at the pool from getting wet...cigs, lighters, key cards, hedo bucks, etc.
We never saw one person shower before entering the pool or hot tub. We did see the staff scrub the chair cushions, pool, and entire patio with bleach every night from 7p until 11p and again in the morning.
Public Display's of Affection, as we wrote in the Trip report is plentiful and no one is cleaning up after anyone. So, one never really knows what is floating around! LOL! A few people mentioned they had prepared themselves to take antibiotic's upon their return home...just in case, especially after nightly visits to the hot tub.
    Hope this helps!

    Rick & Kathy,
Since this thread was started in Sept of last year (2006), I'm curious if you guys have decided on a trip date? As KandN posted, the keys have changed from our original answer as have a few other miniscule items. Towels are put out a couple of different times of the day, no real pattern for when that happens. The towels are washed next door at Grand Lido, so perhaps that can have an impact on when we get clean towels. Even when we've been there during November (anniversary time) we manage to never be without a towel. We're not ones to have to have a fresh towel daily, so as long as the towel is dry and not dirty.....it's good to use again the next day. I'm feeling so green!

Anyway, back to the original question: Have you decided?

We've narrowed it down to "Spring" 2009, only because we've already made plans (obligations) for my paid vacation time for 2008 with "family trips".(We have two kids, both boys, age 14 and 12.) 2009 is our 20th wedding anniversary year and we're both VERY excited about making the trip to Hedo2.

    Patience, Grasshoppa.........

    LOL

It will also coincide with the kid's school break so that their grandparents won't have to worry about getting them to and from school while we're gone. Still haven't quite figured out what to tell our parents about the trip, DEFINITELY NOT that we're going to HEDO. Have to come up with a "little white lie" about another resort in Jamaica. Heck, my mom didn't handle very well the news that we're nudists when I finally told her that the whole family of four of us have been going nude camping for almost 3 years when I told her.(That was back in the summer of 2005.) HEDO would give her a heart attack and get me disowned. Kathy's parents are a little more open minded about the nude camping, but would probably get real concerned if they knew about HEDO.

As the time gets closer, we'll nail down our dates and let the forum know. Would love to know people ahead of our trip and enjoy it that much sooner after our arrival.

    Keep in touch

If you take the cruise to the world famous Rick's Cafe, and see the people doing the cliff diving, and think to yourself that doesn't look that high, or that doesn't look that bad.
    FORGET IT, DON'T DO IT
thats my advice (typing with a bad shoulder and severly bruised tail bone)
