Transportation from MoBay to Hedo?

Any thoughts on the best way to get from MoBay Airport to Hedo? I've heard bus is best and I've heard "fck the bus and do the charter". Besides being our first trip, it's a special occasion (his 30th birthday) and I want it to be awesome. Any advice?

Depends how much you wanna pay. Charter is faster and good for scenery/experience but can be costly. On road it can take about 2hrs or so, we visited Hedo from Mobay one night and it took about that length of time(our hotel was 5mins away from the airport). If you have the money to do it, go charter.

For a first trip...take the bus...get to see a bit of Jamiaca...and the bus ride can be an experience in itself with traffic (hold onto your hats) and the party will start early, especially if you have other Hedo people on board

Make sure as you exit the airport you hit Margaritaville just to the right for a few drinks for the trip.
Also just before you go outside on the left, around the corner from the superclubs lounge are the bathroom.

I agree , the ride is part of the experience. It takes about an hour and a half from the airport a private taxi would probably get you there in an hour - 15 minutes. Or you can take Timair and get there in about 15 minutes. I would save the money on your 1st trip and enjoy Jamaica, you will get to the resort soon enough.

take a travel cup --the cups are the bar are small -- the road even though new is a tad rough

Timair is the hopper flight...I think it is a little over a hundred bucks a person, but I like the ride in on the bus...you get to meet people immediately

or you can take a cab for $70.00, but there won't be a bunch of fun people to party with. I also suggest that for a first trip take the bus, you'll meet some friends before you get to the resort and it's fun.

Good to see your taking the bus. Once on the bus, find out who else is going to Hedo and sit close so the party starts. We also hit the restroom just before walking out the door to the bar, I buy one red stripe beer in the bottle just before going to the bus. If your feeling a need take your own cup or mug with you for other drinks as the plastic ones are flimsy and spill. Same if your going to step out and grab a beer while you wait, your own travel mug for the beer you are not allowed to take a glass bottle back into the airport. AND.. Make sure you talk to the guard at the door on the way out so she will let you back in.

The price of TimAir is almost another night at Hedo. I'd do another night at Hedo if it's in the budget. We just won't go for less than 9-10 nights anymore.

Hey Cop ... how do you get in with the bottle..? No matter how many times I tried I have always had to to pour it in a cup ,bringing it back inside. However you can take the bottle on the bus with you.

For first timers I say take the bus to Hedo and then fly back. You can walk out the front gate at Hedo, make a left and walk the short distance to the air field to book the return flight. It does give you two more hours at Hedo on the day you leave to return home when you fly back.
