Weather in Negril in January

Wondering what the average weather is in January and if its comparible to Cancun ? Hoping for hot sunny days and nights to lie around naked

we have never been yet but when we go in jan we will be happy with anything over 70....lol... living up here in the north atlantic 70's is our summers... and with the temps we get here in jan like 25 or so we will be happy with the 70's but 90's would be great...lol...

We find Jamaica in Jan. warmer than Cancun...The main difference is the eveness of temperature in Jamaica...if its 85 during the day (feels like 100 with humidity), the night low will be around 80...quite comfortble to run around nekkid all night...Cancun on the other hand is a bit cooler (80 daytime plus humidity) has a bigger temp. swing day to night. We actually found some nights chilly when the temp dropped into the low 70's and into the 60's one night.

Anywhere south beats the freezing mark at home though!!

we agree the temps in cancun can get cool at night after feeling the heat all day..... looking forward to the temps in jamaica

We have been a few times at the end of Jan and the weather has been great. I think it in the past it is usually a dry time of the year.

Dry is the norm...like any caribbean country if you look at the weather forecast for Jan it will be sun/cloud chance of rain or thunderstorm...storm cells are very localized and usually pass in 10-15 minutes of rain...but when your nekkid who really cares.
In seven years of early Jan travel (total of 74 vacation days) we've had one all day no sun rain voucher from Superclubs....maybe rain for a few minutes 20 days...and another 5 days of rain lasting more than an hour...we have woken up to wet pavement in the morning where it's rained overnight...but then again...who cares

Whatever it is, I'm betting it's better than Pittsburgh in February...even if the Penguins are doing well.
