    A few Questions...Thanks in Advance!

First off thanks to whomever contributes/started this forum...it has already provided me with some good info on planning a May 07' Jamaica trip...obviously I'm interested in Hedonism...

A couple of questions to the Hedo experts here...and please if possible give the most honest answers.

I'm a 22 year old guy...just got out of a long-term relationship(I would of taken her with me) so I'm hoping to have a "replacement" to go with me...however if that doesn't work out...will I be accepted in general if I go by myself...I'm a fun sociable guy who doesn't need to be part of a big group to have fun...just wondering if you do go by yourself do you get labeled as such and have to deal with some negativity...? Obviously I'm planning on this trip to have a f'n blast...I don't need to get laid constantly but no stress and a generally nice crowd is a must...

Is grass or hash easily available for those who wish to partake? I haven't in a long time and if I could incorporate that into this trip it would definately be great...If you can elaborate on this I'd appreciate it...as in availability at resort/price range, amount of people that partake, etc.

Not that I'd want to spend a hellofalot of time inside but do the tv's get any channels/movies? Porn?...

Are there shops or stores that sell regular "American" food products on or near the resort?
Are there daily tour excursions to other parts of Jamaica?

Has anyone taken Air Jamaica and if so were you pleased?

Ok i have many more questions but i'll stop there...if anyone can help with any of these questions it would be great. The questions in bold are the ones I can't seem to find anything relevant online thus far. Thanks again.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    My first time

was last year, and I was amazed. I am a pretty conservative but open minded guy. I learned that at hedo "anything goes." What I mean by that is... if you want it you will probably find it. Nothing will ever be forced on you. There were couples and singles, and we all played well together. Honestly, of all the vaca we have been on, I have never met so many people... and remain friends with a few that we met there. When my gfriend asked me where I wanted to go this year... I said HEDO3.... again. I can 't wait... 3 weeks away!

Let us know if you have any specific questions...

i just got back home from hedo 3 this morning and i have to report that singles are by far out numbered.

Two of the nicer singles we met both said same thing...would love to come back but not alone. its easier to meet people when u r in a couple. i suspect that they were a few singles having a good time, but they were with the groups, which of course, enabled them to meet people from the group's planned activities.

    also a few jerks

We have been to Jamaica 3 times, always with Air Jamaica. Prior to yesterday, I would say Air Jamaica was fine. But I can probably show you a few thousand people that had complaints after yesterday's fiasco at MBJ. Including the 100 or so from my flight that were supposed to land at PHL at 930 last night but instead landed at JFK at 6 this morning. They were then going to be bused back to Phila which would have put them there at 930 AM or so. (I had someone pick me up).

When they cancelled our 5 PM PHL flight, they offered us seats on the 330PM JFK flight, which had been delayed until 1130 PM, but then ended up leaving at 130 AM. The other 100 or so people from our original flight, who either could not fit on the JFK flight, or just opted to stay overnight had to be squeezed into flights today. That ought to be pretty! Start that fiasco all over again? Forget it. I'd love to know how they are going to squueze all those people from various flights into today schedule when most of todays flights are probably sold out, or close to it.

AirJam proved to be the most unorganized airline I have ever seen in my life. We arrived at airport a little before 3, which should have been fine for a 500 flight but wasnt. The line from the door to the ticket counter, would have taken AT LEAST 4-5 hrs but about 30 mins before departure, they pulled us and put us in a separate line. That lobby mess was only AJ. I saw people at the counters of Air Canada, Continental and I think US Air, all without problems.

AJ seems like they are OK most days but when they hit a detour in the road, they do not know how to handle it. I think the biggest problem was the lines at airport and no organization in the lobby. Why was the lobby so f-ed up? who knows. they told us different reasons, but since they lie so much, who knows.

One person told us computer problems, another told us there were no computer problems but heavy travel for Jamaican holiday. Another said it is light travel day but they were shorthanded due to holiday. (Holiday was actually Sunday but they celebrated Monday) It was almost like they had a hat with a bunch of erxcuses written down on paper and as each person asked, they would pull out a piece of paper and read whatever excuse was on it.

    * Unorganized.
    * Think nothing of lying to you.
    * One clerk at counter told guy next to me one thing while my clerk told me something different. We were told not retrieve our luggage which was correct, while numerous couples were told to get their luggage, which I suspected was wrong but they didnt believe me. When I saw them all running back to the counter an hour later, I knew i was right. I travel enough to know once they check in your luggage and put you past customs, they do not want you to go back. Your luggage will ussualy make it on the right flight. My luggae has never been lost. Its taken different flights, once even to a different city, but it always seems to make its way home eventualy. (kinda like kids once they move out)

Another interesting thing....while sitting around the pool, one couple (who was on their 4th trip?) said they would never take AJ again. I said, I've never had any problems. Guess I won't be saying that again!

been away from Hedo for 28 hrs and dam do i miss it already

Just got back last nite...3rd time at h3 in 14 mo...it really is addictive ;b My honest opinion is that I don't get why single guys go to hedo. They don't bother me in the least and I'm actually single male friendly, so I'm not being hostile It just seems to me, that it would make for a very boring vacation. Most couples are aprehensive of single males. A lot of the single males are just plain creepy and they give all of you guys a bad name. Will you be harrased? I don't think so, but you could end up pretty bored. If you must go without a girl, I'd say, go with other single males or at least make some friends online, before your trip. Don't have any expectations of hooking up and play it cool.
As far as weed goes, it is readily available and you can smoke it anywhere on the resort. I've sat next to people doing it in the hot tub, the swim up bar, the piano bar, disco, you get the pic. I personally don't smoke, so don't know any details as far as pricing, etc. I have heard you never buy at the airport. You can usually get it from the driver or someone else at the "beer stop" on the way to the resort. You can also get it from the guy behind the fence, most employees, etc ;b
The gift shop has essentials like water, red bull, snack stuff, etc...we've never ventured off property, so don't know about anywhere else. The food is not great, but not bad and I've never gotten sick off of it. Hubby did once, but it could have been anything.
