Hedo- Breezes Negril(Grand Lido) Swap

Would it be feasable or even reasonable for Hedo 2 to move across the street to Breezes(Grand Lido) while complete renovations could be taken place at Hedo?
The grounds at Breezes Negril are much larger and rooms are in excellant condition. The property layout could be configured to have Full Nude and Clothing optional. Similar to Hedo is now.
Face it, Hedo needs to have a complete face lift and a complete renovation to keep up. You can only put a band aid on so many times. I am not thinking of a complete change for ever, but just to keep the resort open while rebuilding can occure. Any thoughts??? Al

Why would they want to shut down Breezes for any lenth of time?

totally bad idea , if construction like this where to accur and we all know how island time works and the state of the economy whos to say it would reopen in any certian time spand . why not just do one or two blocks of rooms at a time , this way its a win win for Hedo and all the people who enjoy this little slice of heaven and Hedo still has a a cash flow to operate on ! this is just the way I think I would do things if this where to happen otherwise I think they are doing a great job as it is and they are making a effort to keep up with the times . I am happy just how it is , remember you change something and its never the same !

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are out of date,but we sleep, shower, and have sex there. The rooms are kept clean! They are updating and improving the place during a poor economy.

They have been continually updating since our first visit and it's rarely obtrusive to our fun. It's mighty expensive down there and to do it all at once isn't financially an option.
People are already complaining about the increase in cost as it is.

And there is no way it would be complete in one year, let alone 5. It took them quite awhile just to build a a walking bridge!

you know every time we have been there they have been updating one thing or another personaly speaking i do not now nor will i ever have a problem with the resort , we simply love it ! when did they reopen the walking bridge ? had to be after march of this year correct ?

In the past when Hedo has done large renovations or changes (ie....new spa, munnasan (sp?), water slide) the resort stayed open and operated as close to normal as possible. Many of the old timers can probably chime in but I don't believe Hedo has even closed an entire bldg to work on all rooms at once, usually (if my memory serves me right) it's done a couple rooms at a time. Changes to the resort don't impact rooms and bookings, they just put up some really wonderful fences to keep people directed in the right direction.

Shelly............water slide was back open sometime I think in June but was definitely open the middle of July when we were last there!

The walking bridge was opened just before we arrived this past June. I want to say we went in on the 17th, so around the 15th is my guess.

Interesting idea about just moving across the road.. Just not the same thing however but I did survive the change from III to II.
Yes, the bridge is open now. We used it almost every day to get down to the beach after doing something in the main dining area.
