    WestJet has a Sale on

We purchased our February tickets today for $525 each including seat selection and taxes return from Toronto. They seem to have a good sale so if you are planning on going down in the next few months there were only a few seats left at these prices.

Best part is coming home day we do not leave until after 8 so we get the whole day.

    105 Days to New Years

    167 Days to February.

Do you find you get a better deal booking separately or as a package(air+resort)? I can never seem to find booking separately as the best way to go...just wondering what other Canadians tend to do.

We booked our flights on September 06th and we got a great deal, we booked the resort last January so we were sure to get the week we wanted and we also got a great deal. You just have to watch the flights because they usually only drop for a day or two then go back up so check often!

We booked today...took advantage of the West Jet sale. Booked the resort separate. We checked on booking as a package but this turned out better.

Westjet didn't work for us this year. We used them previously, and even got a rebate when the price of our flight dropped for a few days, so keep an eye on those Westjet prices and if they drop, give them a call and they'll adjust the price. Earlier this year we used US Air out of Seattle to get to Hedo.
The Westjet sale pegged our spring 2012 flight at $2059.00 (for 2 people) from Vancouver, and we had to fly through Toronto.
US Air for the same spring dates is $1331.00 for 2 people(not counting the exchange rate) all taxes in, connecting through Charlotte NC. Travel time was the same.
It cost us $35.00 in gas to get from Vancouver to Seattle (airport) and back. Needless to say we will spend the 35 dollars in gas again, to get from Vancouver to Seattle in 2012(thats what it cost us this year, it'll be more next year no doubt)
Parking the car is the same price as Vancouver, oh and they through in a hotel room for one night too.
We use a local travel agent (who's actually been to H2 many times) who seems to always get us a really good deal on the resort, but not on the air.

Debating using Skoosh.com, this year as their prices are really good for this resort.

We are really lucky being in Toronto, 15 mins to the Airport, 4 hours to Mo Bay. We have used WestJet for 8 years now, they have always been good and the one time there was a delay which caused us to leave 8 hours late (and miss Tim Air) they changed the return date on our tickets for no charge. OUr tickets this year including the seat selection were $250 less than last. We are also going down for New Years and last week I found a sale which saved us $600 over the full fare price. I always check and see the prices for a few weeks after we have purchased so far we have never seen a lower price.

As far as resort prices go between our Hedo points, 14 day discount program and travelling with the Fluffs we have always been happy with the prices we pay. What we like about using WJ is the flexability as compared to going charter or on a package. And besides there is no Party like a Fluff Party.

Our first year we had connecting flights which took a complete day to get there.
The second year we checked out the price for direct flights and they were about the same price and only took 4 hours to get to Montego bay.
This year we got direct flights with west jet and they are cheaper than last year, $947 for the both of us.

Sunwing packages have been our best buy for a few years. Great prices available for this fall, right now. As soon as I clear my decks of work assignments and travel, I'll be looking at another trip down.

Since we are going to Lovevoodoo fest in November, I just booked Air Canada (Toronto to Montego Bay) and WestJet (leave late so that we can enjoy more in H2) on the way home, very good price (<$500 per people round trip) right now.

Direct flights to Jamaica from the west coast are rare for our dates, unless we're heading to Cuba, then they are plentiful.
Living in Ontario does have it's advantages. We can get to Mexico for the prices you get to Jamaica.

Still checking with AC, Westjet and Sunwing, but so far US Air has them beat.
Door to door travel is about 21 hours from Vancouver, it sucks, but worth it for H2.
