Agustus Hurt

Agustus took a nasty fall yesterday down the steps to the pool (the ones to the right of Delroys as you're facing the bar from the beach side). A guest was horsing around with him and he lost his balance and went tumbling down the steps. A doctor and a nurse (both guests) immediately ran over to him. He had scraped his head and was lying there in a pool of blood. It was the most frightening thing to see. He lost consciousness for a little bit, but came to and was groggy. We're friends here with the doctor and he gave me a complete report. The head injury was not a gash and he apparently didn't actually bang his head that hard. As I say, it was more of a bad scrape, but since he lost consciousness, he did have a concussion. He also dislocated his shoulder which the doctor relocated for him. The look on his face brought tears to our eyes. He was obviously scared, and a bit disoriented. After so many years of seeing nothing but a big smile on his face that look yesterday was especially disturbing. He was taken to the hospital and was kept overnight last night. We haven't gotten an update yet this morning, but there are employees keeping in touch with him so we will find out more today. The doctor said he didn't think he was seriously hurt and that he should recover well. It's amazing, as frail as he is, that he wasn't hurt worse than he was. We're hoping he gets released today. If you're the praying type, please pray for Agustus.

With a fall down the stairs, you would have thought his skinny little legs would have snapped intwo. Hopefully he will be okay and we will see him after we get in on Saturday. We'll have his favorite treat with us.

He loves rice crispies, you know the "snap, crackle and pop" rice crispies. so if anyone is going to H2 bring a couple of boxes, or more. sure he would love them.

Dammit was he playing with the blow up dolls again. I truly hope he is ok and makes a full and speedy recovery. He is such a postive person who likes to have fun.

As is usually the case at Hedo, all one knows for sure is what they see with their own eyes, but I spoke to a member of management late yesterday and she said that Agustus was still in the hospital and that he had been going in and out of consciousness and that they were running more tests. It didn't sound nearly as positive as it did yesterday morning. It's getting increasingly difficult to get any solid information because by this time facts are being mixed with rumors.
