    Dance Pole in the disco

Is now fixed. It will not spin nor will it turn in place as it's been drilled into position so that it's more stable. The base pin is removeable for those who like spinning pole but it will probably be the standard that they keep it in static mode which is safer for most inexperienced dancers.

Nothing can be done about the support beam across the top which the drunken idiots tried to hang from (is that suppose to be sexy???) and fell all the way to the floor on their backs - TWICE!!!

    Elle says "THANK YOU MARY!!!!!!"

She hated the spinning pole. She can't wait to test it out again in July.

YAY Mary! I saw a few people get a little disoriented by the spinning pole, and I had a bit of trouble gaging it too (although I tried to make it look pretty!)

Spinning pole is beautiful work when done correctly...but can be SO dangerous.
We have some girls in November who really work the spinning pole...it can be mesmorizing to watch.

I thought the most dangerous part was that the "steps" on the far side of it...against the glass...are in the way of your feet if you are trying to do certain moves. Glad to hear that it is not a "permanent" fix, but that you can have it spin if you like.

And...also....FYI....Rudy and I were actually on the bus once with the SuperClubs lawyer...he was there to investigate where somebody had fallen....couldn't tell us the whole story....

I agree about that step but I looked at it and it seems to be too complicated to have that removed...or at least too major of a project. At least to ask for too soon after fixing the pole...maybe that can be fixed another time.

The first time G used the pole she got a running start and didn't know it spun! As soon as I knew she wasn't hurt, I laughed my ass off! It really was funny (but it could have been very dangerous too).

    Was there last week.
Slide not complete yet. Progress is slow when you are working on Island time.

In their defense; The best time to do the work would be early in the morning before it gets to hot.
Having said that, and with my room in the building closest to the slide, If I had of heard the jackhammer rat-a-tat-tatting too early, I would have gone over an cut the cord off of it.
They start later in the day, in the heat of the day, and progress is s---l---o---w.

My educated guess that it will be another week or two.

Just think, If I had of cut the cord, that would add an additional 3 weeks before it was up and running LOLOLOL

    Cheers

Did they take care of the splinters at the base of the pole?

OH NO! about the slide... that part is so much fun. I'd be sad if it wasn't working while we were there

Yeah...I'd estimate a longer completion date than Steve regarding the slide. It looked like the progress was going slowly, and that they were trying to repair all of the supporting structure. I could be wrong, of course, but I wouldn't expect to use the slide in at least the next month...maybe longer.
