No, YOU are missing the point and missing it badly. It's not up to you to decide if someone is "real" or not. Why not just give people the benefit of the doubt that they are who they say they are and if you can't believe that, just ignore their postings. Has it even occurred to you that you could be wrong about the people you insult and they ARE who they say they are? You have no right to drive new people away from this board. I think what has most people upset is that we all take ownership in this board and we understand that new people's opinion of the board is what we, collectively, make it. I, for one, resent new people painting me and the board with the brush that you created. As for giving the thread a rest, you could probably do that by admitting that you went way over the line (more than once) and apologizing.

Excellent post CandG and that is the point. Who else can we insult in this thread that hasn't (Canadians, truck drivers, Navy wives, the military, forum members, people with flatulence issues)? Thankfully people with small penises hasn't been hit on or else I'd have to leave too.

It seems like this thread just won't die. I'm not going to perpetuate it with my opinion, other than to say, the best way to serve future newbies and their initial questions, is to let this thread drift into obscurity, way , way down the list of popular threads. After all who really looks through the topics buried on page 100 anyway. There are some members who have posted responses here that I know and respect, and I know where their heart is, and even the member who is the recepient of everyone's rath, may , and I mean may, have re-evaluated their initial response, maybe not, but agree to disagree, and move on. No one wants new members reading a nasty thread.
