I hear ya Tbone but like you said yourself sometimes its best to just not say anything at all.. Chris is abig boy and can handle it on his own plus I know biff directed it at chris but his anger was really with the people that stole his pics and not chris.. peace...

Just to back Chris up, I did some research into this issue, and he is correct, vBulletin (the software used for these forums) does not support a delete user option. Best you can do is rename a profile.

Can't be too careful. That is why we block the faces on any and all pictures we put up on websites/forums.

I feel S & B's pain!!!! I feel really bad the pictures got hi-jacked....made me think twice and change the other pictures I had on here (although no one would probably take mine - not near as good as S & B's).

I would hate to see S & B leave this site. i met them on this forum a year ago and they were extremely helpful to us navagating through everything.....they told things like they were and made us feel comfortable. We had the pleasure meeting them at H3 last summer and they are as nice and helpful in person as they were to us on this site.

The way that I see it is this. Some enterprising troll comes here and downloads images and then reuses them in some fashion, on another site. The contributions given here, are done out of the good will of the users, which makes them all the more enjoyable. i.e. when we're enjoying photos from our hedo friends, its a bit different than just flipping through the porno pages of the thousands of websites that offer such things.

Savavannah and Bif's contributions, as well as many others are given in the context of this group only. I know no one can guarantee that the photos won't be lifted, but I believe there might be a few codes that can be used to make the photos a bit more difficult to save.

http://www.graphicsacademy.com/howto_preventcopy.php is but one example of how you can change the coding to stop the "right click, save image as" and several other features to. The article talks about making it difficult to make copies, such as to make it so time consuming, that no one in their right mind would want to go to that much trouble in copying them.

Here is some of the features that they recommend.

Prevent Right Click
How to prevent people right clicking on your web pages, and simply doing Save Image As... to "steal" your images.

Slice And Dice
Another technique that makes it more work for people to "steal" images from your site.

Transparent Image Trickery
In this chapter, I'll show you a technique which causes many "thieves" to save the wrong images when attempting to copy them from your site.

Checking The Referring Page
Another technique to make "thieves'" jobs harder. This particular one has some issues which may affect some legitimate visitors to your site, so I don't recommend it unless you really need to go the extra mile in protecting your images.

Watermarks
In this last chapter, I'll tell you about a method which identifies images as belonging to you. This technique doesn't prevent copying, but at least it means you can identify any "stolen" images more easily. If you tell people you're using it, it may also act as deterrent to any would-be "thieves".

I know if we had a bit more security, then even we might contribute a few more Hedo pictures and videos to the groups galleries, but when we know that it can be easily shared, it causes a "chilling effect" on the rest of us.

Watermarking? Chris would have to watermark pics and re-post, which means pics would not show up for days sometimes. Not sure that is what he signed up for when he created this site. Bottom line...post what you want here but know that it is accessible to the whole world...and only YOU are responsible for that content!

Actually, what I proposed was merely adding some coding to the format of the website. Not asking him to manually do anything that is that time consuming.

Regarding the windows print screen capture. Well you're absolutely right, you can't prevent that, HOWEVER, if you see the quality of the image, then you'll understand that no one in their right mind would use those low quality photos for another commercial business.

My point is to make it more difficult for the troll to steal the photos. You can't prevent it from happening with the limited security that this forum has, but you can make it pragmatically a silly thing to do for the troll.

I agree, we post at our our risk, but putting a few safeguards in, would make a lot of us feel more comfortable about contributing, and isn't that the whole point? I know some of you guys are comfortable posting full face shots, but we are still a bit squeemish, and this is one of the main reasons why we don't add even more photos. We just don't want our kids to see our naked bodies adorning some porn site that they visit in 10 years from now.

Again, if this can not be down with a minimal amount of effort, then I'd abandon the idea. But there has to be some simple coding that will make it hard to download, that will mark the photos, and that will be a time consuming process so that it will be a pain in the ass for the troll to use with any degree of ease.

Why is that a bad idea? Otherwise, why have any safeguards at all? Why have verifiable email addresses, when we know any smuck can make one? The reason is, to add a simple and measured dose of security with a tad bit of common sense to distract the troll from doing his job in stealing these pictures. I just think if we had more security, then we'd likely have more contributions.
